Never did like him as a ref.

He was pretty shite yesterday though. Davies getting a booking for his challenge [but only after the victim got up to remonstrate with him] after about 70 minutes of of Palace being by far the most aggressive and physical team to have visited the Reebok in a while.

Does anyone know how many shirts Gary Speed had on yesterday? :-k

I am risking being caught in a fish hook here, but just in case you are serious

It was nothing to do with his shirt. A player has to leave the pitch if he is bleeding to have stitches/treatment.

It was unfortunate that it was in a dangerous position for us but that is the rule.

yeah a new rule thats been introduced.

must have to take at least 3 spares to away matches, because as shown by speed yesterday, its likely the cuts going to get knocked again.

Ali, Don't call Speedo a red ginger :D

Looks as though the rule is: Thou must not spill any claret on a footy shirt.

Shearer bled a bit at Charlton and had to change his shirt. Spent most of the second half as HUGHES 18 the tight bastards had only packed 1 shirt each. I guess it was pretty much a "You won't be getting a game today, son" for the real Hughes!

Yeah it's all to do with aids and hiv. You are not allowed to play with any blood on your shirt, it might possibly get passed on to another player.

Warwick Rimmer (if anyone remembers him) always played better if he had a blood stained bandage wrapped round his head similar to Terry Butcher when he played for England.

However, the trainer wipes away the blood with a towel that he throws back in his bag and uses again next time ](*,)

Plus it makes an arse of the not allowed to take your top off rule.

They can take their tops off under the supervision of the 4th official as long as there are no nipples displayed.

We lost Speed for quite a while during the game. Was it purely so he could swap shirts, etc? He always managed to wear No. 6.

Why could Shearer get away with wearing another shirt? And why could he play on, late in the game (around 5 mins to go) with his new shirt covered in blood.

Some refs and officials are weak in the presence of Shearer.

The rule is that if a player has to go off with blood on his shirt, any other players shirt can be worn. Its so the game can be continued as quickly as possible. Newcastle were away and prob didnt have another shearer shirt with them. Volz at fulham a few weeks ago had to change his shirt a few times and had to wear someone elses shirt and then one with no number at all.

A football team made up of insects and bugs were having a good season. The best player was the centipede he wore the No.9 shirt, the beetle was No.7, the ant No.2 etc., but the Earwig was a really shit player and never got a first team place, he didn't even have a squad number so they gave him a shirt with the letter O on the back.

When they reached the Cup Final they had loads of suspensions, so the Earwig was one of the substitutes. It was the last minute of the game and still 0-0 and all the other subs had been used when their star player was stretchered off. The Earwig with his embarrassing shirt was sent on and became a hero when he scored the winning goal.

question: What song did all the fans sing?

earwig-o,earwig-o,aerwig-o

:D :D
