May 10, 201610 yr It's the side of a volcano full of wedding parties Literally 99% of everyone there is at a wedding Nice place, very small, we stayed in Fira which is the main town and is on the steep slope looking in at the centre of the volcano Loads of nice places to eat, foods really good, great views as well Beaches are shite on the other side as its volcanic Get a quad bike, everyone's on them, we watched the first half of a game in a boozer on one side of the island (Kamari) and made second half kick off back in Fira
May 10, 201610 yr I've never been, but a guy at work went for 2 weeks and he said 2 weeks is too long there. I think cruise ships stop there quite often, might be wrong though.
May 10, 201610 yr P.s it's due a eruption apparently, last one 1500 years a go wiped out the Minoans or something - it's one fucking huge volcano Luckily they recon they will get at least a months notice next time she blows We will all know about it when it does Anfield will be empty
May 10, 201610 yr PIssed down all week when I went about this time 10 years ago. Would've been beautiful if it was hot. Wouldn't bother going to see the 'active'part of the volcano again - it's basically a tiny bit of steam coming out of a black swamp. Oia was the best bit. Spend as much time there as you can. Sunset is worth it if you're with the mrs. Edited May 10, 201610 yr by Cheese
May 10, 201610 yr basically a tiny bit of steam coming out of a black swamp. . Sounds like Boltons forward line for large parts of this season.
May 10, 201610 yr I was on bing when I went in 2005, thanks to the cliffs etc I was on edge most of the time.
May 10, 201610 yr I'd agree with the two weeks being too much Even a week is boarder line If I was doing our trip again it would be 5 days there then a ferry to another island close by
