Not everyone's cup of tea but I've always been interested, since the first ever league goal was scored there! I can only find two photos of the ground, but one of them just does not seem to be of Pikes Lane of the area, maybe some Deane lad/lasses can have some input.

 

First the proper pic, then the other one, which just doesn't seem to fit the lay of the land and the houses in the background just don't look like Northern Victorian Terraced houses. The whole pic looks like it should be in Southampton or Exeter or somewhere like that...

I saw some old giffers playing near me a few weeks ago. Some were definitely having a bit of a jog on, whilst some could hardly move.

I'm going to start calling for mates when I'm an owd gipper, ask their wives if they're playing out, hopefully they'll be gam. Football mainly, knockadoor run, catwalking, shitbox tricks and perhaps building a go-kart and racing it down a hill, crashing into some bushes and ending up with our legs sticking up in the air out of the bushes (in the Yorkshire Dales).
