Likes the manager and/or other staff he may know.

Geography relative to family etc - North West or London for eg

Length of contract - 2 years at Millwall for £15k a week or 4 years here on £10k a week

Likelihood of being a starter most weeks - if we assume every other strikeforce in the championship is better than our's, if you sign for us you're starting whenever you're fit. Or go to Millwall and sit on the bench with Tutu.

And not as obvious, but style of play. If Lincoln are a long ball team (not saying they are) and we play like Holland 74, which team suits your game?

Never just purely down to money.

At 22, having played and scored goals everywhere since he was a child, I'd be amazed if Max Dean didn't believe that he'd score his way into starting for any Championship club. He'd have to have worryingly low ambitions to be sitting there thinking 'I'll never play for Millwall'.
