Nativism is reactionary, its about keeping a certain status quo that generally only focuses on a few people in society but claims to speak for the majority, again under some odd moral crusade to keep themselves top of the pecking order. Populism, nativisim, its all in the same.

 

As for the real world, the reason why this movement has and is gaining traction is because the west is generally in a state of flux, whether you like it or not things are changing. You might not agree with it, but that is the real world. As I've said before, no one is shutting you down, stopping you speaking or trying to change your way of life, you might perceive it differently and its your absolute right to say this but this endless shouting down of any disagreement to what you have to say (and again, I'm not saying there aren't salient points about how we control immigration, how our social services function in a changing demographic, how communities need more central government support to encourage outside investment, especially in the most deprived areas for better social cohesion, who the division of wealth is grossly unfair across this nation - its one of liberalism greatest failures over the last 20 years to acknowledge that centrist policies haven't benefited everyone) doesn't help, it just causes further opposition. I know you believe this is helping, but I'm also within my right to think it really doesn't.

Nothing to do with what you were saying ? We..imshould say you mentioned assimilation so I chucked it the Saudi bit to see what your thoughts are on how they treat folk ? Subtle ? No......just straight and direct to the point...
