I've some level of unease around "hate" crime.

If an attack of any sort is carried out by an individual on another, then why should racial differences make the crime apparently worse?

Worries me a bit of where this might lead.

We all know acid attacks are not purely the domain of one race/religion/minority/country etc. Seems to be spreading but it has been a growing problem in one country for a long time:-

I wouldn’t go as far as saying that to be honest, though the father should be deported back to Afghanistan once his prison sentence is over.

He clearly has no intention of assimilation whereas his ex wife appeared to be doing so thus causing the ex husband to flip.

If the Afghan family arrived here because he had a work permit and was able to support his family then I have no problem with the family being here, it’s a crime that we just have to deal with, but if he’s an illegal immigrant or someone who’s arrived and being supported by benefits then they all should have been sent back to where they came from.

 

It’s not difficult to decide on their suitability for residency, we just need a proper immigration policy, one that’s fit for purpose rather than one seemingly designed specifically not to upset liberal do gooders. Any how hope the little lad makes as best of a recovery as possible.
