is that the cesar with a broken foot?

anyway, that aside, whatever defence he picks, he's got to stick with it

Still not enough grit in that midfield.

We are now fighting for Premiership survival.

I'd go for...

Oakes

Barness

NGotty

Jaidi

Gardner

Campo

Nolan

Speed

Okocha (in the hole behind the front men)

I dont like calling young players trying to learn thier trade, and i know he has scored a lot for the Reserves, but do people really think this is the time to be blooding young players during the worse run we have ever had in the Premiership? When we were flying, yes put him on the bench so the las is in a team with loads of confidence, but we are not creating a single chance at the moment, so why not go with Sir Les, and try and batter our way to a result?

I too think sam is using vas Te as a last resort. Whilst there's no doubt he puts his all into the job, he is a bit lightweight and is easily pushed off the ball. He needs to put on a few stones first.

Id put miami white on the left wing.

Gardner trying to offer the width down the left hand side. Diouf offering the get out ball down the right. Davies remaining in the middle of the park where he has a better chance of scoring! Jay Jay given a creative role only, as Speed, Campo, Nolan can do the leg work and defending in midfield, thus getting jay on the ball in the right areas and hopefully creating at least one chance on target (which would be better than recent weeks!)

Campo can fill in as the third centre half ( [-X ) if Ngotty goes forward at the same time as Ricky.with either Speed or nolan filling in his midfield holding role at that time. Nolan & Speed can alternate who gets forward to support the front 4 (making five in total when we have the ball) or stay back when we are defending (adding to the other six defensive players)..........its easy this management lark!!! :^o

too narrow

nowt to protect the full backs

won't work

accepted, nowt else is either #-o

Accept your arguement as valid in part. yes it is narrow and does leave the full backs exposed, but with WBA's injury problems at the moment, I dont expect them to play with two wide men, they will pack the middle of the park and try to muscle us out of the game - hence Jay jay higher up the park trying to break them down.

See I thought this thread was about a team for the WBA match :D

Any player struggling in the match can be replaced by Stelios/Big Les/Hierro/Pedders/Haim (not a bad second string IMO)

What's this about Oakes for Jussi????????????? Am I missing something, is he injured, suspended or have you had too much christmas spirit.

I think the feeling about Jussi - is that he is too complacent. We as fans have got complacent. And so has the manager.

Now its time to shake a few people up. As a keeper who just cannot keep the ball out of his net, its time he had a break.

Agree with Salford White - its about the team this thread.

Casino chipping in with comments about being too narrow.

fcuk, whatever we do, no-one covers the flanks. Hunt and Gardner are forever exposed. And at times, Hunt goes wandering, leaving an entire wing exposed. Problem is, unless you play 442 or a displined 451, then you will always allow the other team to come at you up the wings.

we're not exposed when pedersen plays there in front of gardner, or when nolan plays in front of hunt

sorry if you can't see that

but i'll keep on chipping in

I saw gaping holes against Blackburn! No cover for the full backs. Who in turn were out of position probably covering central defenders - who were probably out of position cos lazy fuckwits like Stelios were wandering around the pitch aimlessly.

Sorry if you didn't see that.

i'll tell you what i didn't see

nolan and pedersen playing in front of hunt and gardner

a tried and tested formula

sorry i didn't see that #-o

very sorry, cos we may have won if i had

thing i do nt understand is that earlier in the season we were doing ragging well playing kev d. upfront on his own.

with nolan/spit/pedersson/stelios playing midfield but pushing on. (2 from 4 there)

speed, jayjay and campo making up the midfield.

back 4 hunt,j d and coke,bruno and ricky.

i personally would play nolan and spit with pedersson coming off the bench.

but we keep chopping and changing and as we do the teams has become unsettles and unbalanced, why not go back to something that has proved it can work ?

There was an article in the Telegraph Sport today saying something like that.

Torygraph Article

Rumours down here that wife-beater Holdsworth could be available from Havant, sure we could get him for a knock-down price (sponsored by Mike Hunt maybe?)

think thats what i wanted to say....ish

i reckon pedersen is better for the team than diouf though.....when we haven't got the ball
