I find it amusing that Big Sam is committing us to a Intertoto game when the World Cup has only just got going. Might as well scrap the summer break and train straght through! Surely this is scare tactics so the lads buck their ideas up and push on for the 4th, 5th or 6th spots in the Prem!

And those of us who have to pay for our own Season Tickets enjoy expenses of 50.5 pence per mile which just about pays the petrol money spent getting to The Reebok! So, you travel twice a week to Horwich/Bolton. Once for training once for the game plus the odd night match thrown in. For that you spend 3.50 on fees plus petrol. As a S/T holder I spend on average ??25 "fees" per game plus the petrol. I stand by what I said about you doing it for the free ticket! Are there any vacancies for a 44 year old male in your little dance troupe? I wouldn't mind paying ??3.50 a week and be guaranteed a ticket for every home game and I promise not to get caught w??nking while I'm learning to dance! emm no i travel twice a week without a match if theres a match then its 3 times a week You train twice a week to produce that routine? Imagine what it would loook like with no training at all :D/

You're right Yatesy Lad! Hadn't noticed Ste and Hazzy there. Did Ste have to miss a week of 5 a side after this or was it considered a genuine excuse He missed a few Wednesday's due to overseas assignments! And we thought they were work related

This thread really does illustrate that a lot of public sector workers really do think that they should be insulated from the real world. Why should I have to work to 70 (likely age by the time I get near it)before I can retire but at the same time pay extra taxes so the civil servants of this world can retire at 55 - 60! I signed a contract saying the normal retiremen age is 60 but our pension scheme trustees have changed those to 65. As the Government changes the normal retirement age over the next decade, I too will see the age of normal retirment increase. This is the REAL WORLD. People are living longer, less babies are being born, less taxes are being paid and therefore there is less cash in the big pension pot for us all to share!

If you look at the 4th goal again, you can say that he is out of position because he has been dragged in field to cover for Jaidi who is even further out of position! He was not up field but in the centre of defence helping out.

Another factor with Borgetti is the World Cup. Pretty sure he will still feature in the Mexico squad anyway but surely he will be wanting to put in some good performances for us to cement his place in their starting line up. Not convinced that he merits a place in our starting line up though, as it pushes Davies out wide, but he should be the first attacking change to come off the bench when we need goals.

I was only born in 1972 but this thread is a fascinating read and real eye opener to watching Bolton in the 1970's. I can remember some mad away trips in the late 1980's and 1990's but nothing to rank alongside this one.
