This thread really does illustrate that a lot of public sector workers really do think that they should be insulated from the real world.
Why should I have to work to 70 (likely age by the time I get near it)before I can retire but at the same time pay extra taxes so the civil servants of this world can retire at 55 - 60!
I signed a contract saying the normal retiremen age is 60 but our pension scheme trustees have changed those to 65. As the Government changes the normal retirement age over the next decade, I too will see the age of normal retirment increase.
This is the REAL WORLD. People are living longer, less babies are being born, less taxes are being paid and therefore there is less cash in the big pension pot for us all to share!
