The morning newspapers has the official attendance from last night as 20,000!! There seemed like 20,000 just behind one of the goals! A bit of creative bean counting I think.

What a load of bull shit this all was From BEN.... All Bolton fans without a ticket who travelled to the ground got in! The Marseille Police answer to visiting fans without tickets is put them in the roped off segregated area! It is better for them to have the fans in the ground under control then outside on the streets! So no need to even buy tickets from touts - never mind having to be worried about it being forged. As for the 'state-of-the-art' turnstiles . This was a line of stewards ripping the stub off the ticket and dropping it on the floor. Superb day all the same. For us fans who have seen Bolton at likes of Scarboro' in Division 4, it was unbelievable to watch our team play at a European Giant, that Marseille are, on an equal footing.

All got in! Marseille police attitude is that it is better having visiting fans without tickets in the roped off segregation part of the ground then outside the ground potentially causing trouble!

Has to be one of the most dangerous grounds I have been to. Stood up the whole game on concrete steps that was supposed to be a seat! There was no barriers to prevent a forward crush. After the game we all had to make for the bottom exit in the terracing as the top two were locked and not used. Then we were ushered through one exit gate only wide enough for 3 or 4 at a time!

Despite the best warnings on WW about keeping out of the Irish bars, my man in Marseille has said that O'Malleys in the Old Port area is packed with Bolton fans. They have tried a few other bars around the port but the Irish bar is the busiest by a mile. ???5 a beer #-o
