  1. 131 - number of years our unbeaten record in European competitions lasted prior to the defeat at Marseille
  2. Is this including the Anglo Italian from the early 1990's are just the UEFA Cup of this season?
  3. believe mate you ain't! We had a real good 'memory-lane' chat about this on the flight to Marseille. You could not beat the old days of getting home from work and over tea deciding to watch BWFC at Huddersfield, Bradford, Blackpool etc that night! Jump in the car, pay at the turnstile and stand on the terracing watching the lads. Superb. I still talk about watching Bolton in a Div 4 game away at Exeter on a Tuesday night as a top memory in watching the Wanderers. It beats WHU at home in the Prem any day
  4. I totally agree with you. The NHS / Government is forcing people to support their local unit in the belief that some may stay open against others that will close. I am of the opinion that the decisions have already been made and regional 'super-sites' is the future. As you say though, no harm in showing our support.
  5. Same here Salford but with Fairfield in Bury. My wife is expecting our second later this month and hopefully we will not need to use the special care baby unit at Bury but it is good to know that if we do, we will not have to be moved to a 'super site' somewhere in North Manchester.
  6. Just a small extract from last nights Bolton Evening News article featuring our Fat Chairman Where to start with this statement!! What a surprise eh! Gartside gives our wonderful corporate 'people' first mention. Notice he uses the word 'people' and not 'supporters' or 'fans'. What!!! Is this bloke for real. Lets just look at the Marseille allocation. The club totally ignored the use of vouchers from any of the UEFA away games (eg Turkey) and plumped for the Everton away game vouchers. The tickets then ran out before all season ticket holder's applications had been fulfilled! A lot of the lads and lasses that went to Turkey are non-season ticket holders and were left with the gamble of travelling to Marseille without a ticket. Best bit for me this! Just revisit the statement that our local Police made as a warning to travelling to Marseille. 'State-of-the-art' bar code reading turnstiles = a line of stewards ripping the stub of the ticket! 'Dont travel without a ticket' = no ticket - come on in and get a better seat than those with a ticket etc etc I bet you have! You both speak utter bullshit that is not worth the news print that it appears on. All in all another superb piece of rubbish from our Chairman. When will this man learn that we can see through his drivel and he really must engage brain before he opens his fat mouth?
  7. Can anybody name a Prem ground of similar size to the Reebok that does have a good atmosphere?
  8. As Bergeracs is not a bar I frequent - any sightings of the bottle version of Desperado on the shelves of supermarkets?
  9. Wish I had been under it during first half injury time
  10. It was particularly bad on Sunday as it was one of the two games a season when Junior Whites get in for free. Got to admit I was one of them with my young lad - eh at the prices Bolton charge you have to make the most of these 'offers' when they come!!
  11. Welcome to WW , whoever you are . Totally agree with you. The 'No Surrender' song especially pisses me off - and I used to watch Rangers as my second team! But as many previous threads on WW have told, we at Bolton have a piss poor selection of songs that mention the team in them. Maybe THE LEGEND can write us some #-o
  12. European away games is the way forward. Can we just give the rest of the games a miss until the atmosphere returns?

    That bloke

Traf - sorry if it was not you. I thought I could recall you pointing out very poor spelling, grammar and punctuation in previous posts?
  14. YATESY

    That bloke

Traf - yet further examples of the terrible English and spelling skills that the kids of today are leaving school with. (I could have highlighted the poor grammer and use of punctuation but I got bored)
  15. Joey O'B. Partly for his own ability but mostly for grabbing the right back shirt and keeping Mr Coat Hanger on the bench
  16. Not an issue on here. We had greater concern of Sam joining Newcastle but after it became clear he was not interested, it is obvious he is now happy to stay at Bolton. There is no chance of Sam getting the England job due to numerous reasons; perceived style of play, speaks his mind, not affraid to ruffle feathers in high places, not won anything as a manager, not a quiet puppet that the FA can control etc etc Your ex-Sowerness has more of a chance
  17. and for Desperados! That awful sounding French beer that had a tequila in it - but it was strong as f*ck and tasted sweet They sell it in The New Bergeracs on Bank Street, Bolton. Cheers Traf! Somebody said in the square on Thursday that they had seen it on sale in Bolton but none of us were in a fit state to think of where!!
  18. X is for the queue at the X-ray machine at Marseille airport for those who had to go back straight after the game. (for those with the luxury of the overnight stay after the game - it seemed about 100m long and 30-40 people wide. It resulted in all the flights home being delayed by at least an hour #-o )
  19. and for Desperados! That awful sounding French beer that had a tequila in it - but it was strong as f*ck and tasted sweet
  20. and also the number of German Bombers in the air! and for Tripping over that bloody stupid low metal rope railing around the square in Gumiaraes
  21. Hazzy - Hulmey is bringing the rag to footy on Wednesday. His French (and ours) is shite. Have you got a translation of the article?
  22. He must of got a good kicking somewhere because (if it is the same lad) he was wearing thick jam-jar bottom specs in Marseille.
  23. For once I think the club did announce it - over the email at least. I got one of those automated HTML emails about the change of times.
  24. He played in 2 or 3 superb crosses in the second half that were too good for anyone! Also, that shot would have broke the net if it was on target. My worry with JJ though, was plain for all to see on Sunday (as it was in Marseille)...defending. He simply can not track back and mark a man. IF he is to play the Hierro role - this is a major problem
  25. me neither. Cant think of anything he has said that has caused a problem.
