  1. especially one's we sign! what's your view on him? any good?
  2. where did i mention big club? i wont let that stop your little obsessive tirade though.
  3. this was posted on nufc.com on june 15th, they are usually pretty accurate. Bolton officials have made it known that they expect to be unsuccessful in their attempts to sign midfielder Danny Guthrie - as the player is coming to SJP. The 21 year-old spent last season on loan at the Reebok from Liverpool, having spent part of 2006/07 being borrowed by Southampton. Released by Manchester United as a 15 year-old, Guthrie made three sub appearances for Liverpool - the last of which was at SJP in February 2007. Guthrie has made 54 senior career appearances - his only goal to date coming in a League Cup victory at Craven Cottage, marking his Bolton debut.
  4. he's having his medical today, ?2m fee. don't know much about the lad, but the liverpool fans on other forums seem quite annoyed its only ?2m. the 'if he was any good liverpool wouldnt be selling' brigade should look at david bentley. pretty low risk for us at ?2m, but as i said i dont know anything about him
  5. it was a joke, hence the laughing after it. cheers for the generalisation though
  6. not particulalry, when we floated and raised all the cash he left pretty soon after. in fact, im not even sure he made a purchsse after the floatation. look at souness/freddy for your answer to that one. he's probably as much a part of the debt as howard wilkinson was the demise of leeds.
  7. i won;t continue this debate, its pointless. how am i dillusional? i'm pointing out history, it was fact. if i was dillusional i would be saying something like he was going to take us to near the title again, which he most certainly wont. nor do i feel, or say, that we are a 'massive club'. cheers for putting words in my mouth though!
  8. when he took us from near relegation to league 1 and then 3rd in the prem in 2 years? about ?3m. in total at the toon i'll take a stab at about ?55m in 4 or so years. from where we came from to where we ended up, i wouldnt say that was too bad. i know times have changed, but the dog gary neville spent around ?40m this summer alone at the unwashed and they were only safe with about 2 games to go, what keegan did for us has never been repeated since, and never will be again.
  9. anyway, i'm not here for a scrap about keegan, thats by the by, managers dont leave us for you, thats happens the other way around (ducks) just thought i would pass on some info, could be right, could be wrong
  10. he did a better job for us than sam did for you lot, and you worshipped the bloke, thought he was gods gift.
  11. took us from near relegation to league 1 to 3rd in the prem in 2 years, then took us to the brink of the title. left and went to fulham, took them up. went to england, couldnt cut it, but at least he had the nuts to admit it. went to city, took them up, breaking records. not too bad realy, he's never failed at club level. what have your recent past past managers done/won??
  12. done more than any of your gaffers ever have. that aside, megson wont be leaving apparently, but pretty dramatic changes afoot?
  13. all to be revealed tomorrow apparently? don't shoot the messenger
  14. he said on sky yesterday that he told anelka when he met him that he could come, do the business and move on, he said he told him 'you want to come back to the premiership but noboy else wants you', i agree, he did get a bit grumpy about it. he's put some ragging beef on as well. the man is a terrible self publicist, i get sick of hearing about his 'success, like, y'know' when he's on telly/radio, as has already been said on here, he doesnt mention 2007 onwards. he apparently became incredibly aloof whilst at our place, and did his full training sessions on a mega phone, not talking to players much etc etc. there's some footage on youtube about his mega phone-antics, weird to say the least. i still think certain people are made for certain clubs, and i think he is yours. i rekon he'd get you back up there if he returned
  15. i agree about parker, he was class at charlton ruined at chelsea, and we picked him up on the slide (see damien duff), we knew he was por, but the rest of the nation seemed to think he was shit hot. its funny realy, because habib beye, our right back, has been a revelation, and the direct opposite has been said about him!
  16. he reminds me a lot of scott parker, others seem to rave about him, but we knew he was very average, his v signs to the fans stopped us from backing him though, and i dont think nolan is thick enough to do that, so he'll probably always have your support. certain midfielders have this mystique outside of their own club, nolan certainly would appear to be one, parker cetainly was, jermaine jeans is the same at spurs apparently (he was like that at nufc after his first full season as well)
  17. would be stunned if we went for him, can't see it at all. its pretty common knowledge in newcastle that we would have moved for him in jan of sam had stayed, but i cant see KK going for him. for what its worth i don't rate him (not to offend anyone), although he is probably more use than joey barton (in or out of the nick). still can't see it. if you stay up, which i think you will, i don't think he'll go anywhere
  18. i think i posted on here when you signed him that he wouldnt let you down. he's a decent player o'brien, and is as brave as a lion. he's a bit of a cult hero in newcastle after his goal against the unwashed. he was our centre half when we were in the top 4 (twice) and when we were getting results at the san siro, beating juventus and thrashing leverkusen in the champs league, so he's no mug.
  19. samuels' a fat red ginger, end of.
  20. he'll be great for you (again) in my opinion. if you could get him in before saturday you may get the win you need to get out of it!
  21. isnt that from 'niko' on the rovers forum? freddy is a media whore, he wont be enjoying his time out of the limelight by any means
  22. geordieboy replied to a post in a topic in Terrace Talk - 'Classics'
yet another myth. the poundits and media cause these huge highs and lows, not us. we would all agree that top 8 next season would be a great leap forward.
  23. 'the game has changed' ??? sice last season????
  24. best omani player in europe!
