Reported by FansFC that Barcodes are looking to bid ?4m for Nolan. I know that it is a dubious source but what really p}sses me off, are the fees mentioned whenever one of ours is linked to anyone. Nolan = established premiership player = proven Premiership goalscorer = continually linked to England = club captain = young(ish) = ?4m ???????

After the last 2 years or so, it's hard to argue that ?4m wouldn't be somewhat generous.

But I know where you're coming from. Bent = ?17m, Anelka = ?15m, Gudjohnsen = ?4m etc.

But BW got fairly top money for McAteer, Stubbs, Curcic, Thompson and the others in the past.

And sadly done nothing with it ;-)

Apart from the best 7 years in the last 50!!

would be stunned if we went for him, can't see it at all.

its pretty common knowledge in newcastle that we would have moved for him in jan of sam had stayed, but i cant see KK going for him.

for what its worth i don't rate him (not to offend anyone), although he is probably more use than joey barton (in or out of the nick).

still can't see it.

if you stay up, which i think you will, i don't think he'll go anywhere

Personally i wouldn't put him in the top 30 of Premiership midfielders, but he plays with heart - and he's ours, and as long as it stays that way i think most Bolton fans will back him

he reminds me a lot of scott parker, others seem to rave about him, but we knew he was very average, his v signs to the fans stopped us from backing him though, and i dont think nolan is thick enough to do that, so he'll probably always have your support.

certain midfielders have this mystique outside of their own club, nolan certainly would appear to be one, parker cetainly was, jermaine jeans is the same at spurs apparently (he was like that at nufc after his first full season as well)

withiut Nolan we are a pale shadow of a team, the man is priceless to BWFC.

I thought Parker was superb when Curbishley built Charlton around him, really, really top drawer

Chelsea seemed to ruin him like they did with SWP, although they may just have proved not good enough at the very top level

As for Nolan, he's a decent player. But his heart is with BWFC, and he can score goals, which we're short of. So he is vital to us...

However I don't think he would be a success if he moved elsewhere for decent money.

Decent money??!

What's he getting at the moment?

Like all players these days.... far too much!!

Let's face it, if Henry went to Newcastle, he would be dross in 2 weeks.

i agree about parker, he was class at charlton ruined at chelsea, and we picked him up on the slide (see damien duff), we knew he was por, but the rest of the nation seemed to think he was shit hot.

its funny realy, because habib beye, our right back, has been a revelation, and the direct opposite has been said about him!

Its always been the same price for our players, Frandsen, Blake and others, 4 million.

Daily Mail reports City are interested in signing Diouf for ?5m.www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=1779&ito=newsnow. Didnt we take on the troubled and risky Diouf and pay ?5m for him, before turning him into a consistent Premiership performer and pay ?5m? It appears that values dont increase despite 2 X top 8 finishes in 3 years and that inflation does not apply to the Reebok. Quite franky I'm sick of the this speculation and consistent undervaluing of our players!!!!

I would be very happy to see Diouf go, he is a player on the slide, as long as the money was spent wisely on someone young with pace and potential.

are you inferring that Diouf would be worth more than ?5M? (I thought we only paid about ?3.5M for him anyway, not ?5M......although I am happy to be proved wrong)

as in most cases, if we go down, the amount offered for players will reduce, as they know we are forced to sell. If we stay up, we aren't forced to sell, thus keeping the fee a bit higher, fairly logical really

Whilst The Mirror links him with a move to Spain:

Valencia have lined up a ?5m bid for El-Hadji Diouf as he heads for the exit at Bolton.

Diouf is preparing to quit the Reebok this summer and Valencia are ready to steal a march on a string of European clubs.

Atletico Madrid, Everton, Portsmouth, Roma and Sevilla are also in the hunt for the Senegal striker.

But Valencia are set to make a bid before the end of the season

I would have thought he will be off abroad when he leaves us

Aye, he's bluffed his way through for long enough in England now - 11 goals in 81 games <_<

I knew his goalscoring stats were not great, but I didn't realise his most prolific period ever, was when he was originally on loan with us, scoring 9 goals in just 27 appearances*

?4 Million for a player that cant tackle, cant pass, cant run.....great Value!
