  1. …I’m sure @gonzo will take the above in the pissed up spirt that it was written in 😂😉👍
  2. Fair play - good response and it’s good to read about some decent highlights when I didn’t watch a minute 👍 I should have added there were a lot of considered opinions too that recognised the context of the situation In my defence, I read through pissed up at 2am and saw stuff like; pub team, it will be a long season, SS is strategically putting out a shit team, same problems that will never go away, best of a bad bunch…. ….And thought it was useful to the debate to point out some home truths about pre-season form and results.
  3. Deal 🤣👍
  4. I’m tuning out of this appraisal now. I get it, it’s massive, it’s England and everybody has the right to express an opinion. But it’s fucking draining listening to everybody saying the same thing… … and yes that same thing may have some validation.. But it’s like everytime someone says it, it’s like they are putting themselves on some kind of pedestal in expressing their anger and frustration more than the person before. Talk Sport is the best example. It was actually a decent listen up to the semi final defeat… now it’s just a screeching nonsense of the next speaker outdoing the previous speaker.. saying the same thing.. Get a bit of Ibiza Cafe Del Mar chill out on.
  5. We’re on different time zones here! 🤣 You are rationally checking things out with your morning coffee… … I’m emotionally calling folk out for anything negative being said, after a shed load of post end of term drinks at 2am 🤣
  6. Maybe AI has fucked up (as it often does) But my point remains, whatever the year(s) it fucking was….. folk need to calm the fuck down.. it’s pre-season for fucks sake.* *everybody is allowed an opinion, it’s a forum, we are allowed to pass opinion on pre-season blah blah blah …. but pre-season defines nothing as to what will happen after
  7. Bloody hell lad. I think TT, Talk Sport and the World Cup has got you scrambled! Chill out mate, take a few weeks off and come back refreshed in August
  8. You need to come back pal. It’s hard work conversing with folk who can only see the worst in things. Fighting the good fight 💪
  9. Odense BK 6–1 Bolton, Lyngby 6–2 Bolton, and Brøndby 2–0 Bolton were the three consecutive defeats that defined Our 2000 pre-season Remember what happened next….
  10. Are folk really trying to judge us and our players after one half of a pre-season friendly?
  11. Always nice to debate with someone who is balanced, respectful of other opinions and doesn’t try to claim their POV is adamantly and narrow-mindedly correct. Exactly the way an opinion should be expressed and a difference of opinion discussed 👍 For me the pendulum has swung on my opinion of TT and it’s still not landed in a definitive place. Wasn’t impressed with his early days, went into the World Cup open minded, I agreed with his squad, grew to like some of his positive traits and gave credit to his decisions in getting us to the semi-final. However that last 30 mins has sent me very much into negative territory. Enough for me to conclude he should be potted?… I don’t think so, but I’m not sure!
  12. So the question then is, could TT learn from those mistakes and be prepared, like SS has done, to change and do things differently when faced with the same situation again?
  13. Don’t get me wrong, he takes the lion share and I agree he got loads wrong; too many defenders, no out ball, too deep, lack of midfielders and much more. Probably the biggest criticism is translating messages to his players about his tactics, because I’m sure if he was asked did you want the players to play so deep and give Argentina that much of the ball, he would say no.
  14. It really hurts doesn’t it. Heard the pundits say our possession stats after our goal to their second was 11%! That’s just unforgivable. And I’m not laying all that on TT. The players out their on the pitch need to accept a portion of the blame too.
  15. Moving away from my disagreements with someone who is just trying to gain kudos from Englands failure tonight.. ..I’ve got to agree with this. For as much credit as TT gained from the Croatia and Mexico games in particular he’s gone a long way to losing it tonight after that last 30 minute surrender. He deserves every criticism that will come his way for how he managed the end of that game.
  16. 1/ Including Stones and James wasn’t clueless - both contributed well in this tournament. 2/ You said Spence was never a footballer - you’d completely written him off 3/ Be home before the post -😂 You just throw out a load of shit to every managerial decision you don’t agree with and the majority doesn’t stick. Then you come on and try to claim some bragging rights after our nation has been knocked out in the semi finals of the World Cup. I’m convinced if BWFC had lost at Wembley you wouldn’t have gone into hiding - you’d have been on here telling us where SS went wrong.
  17. Wow - Mr patriotic been waiting for that? You still came out with a load of bullshit about the players, the manager, how far we’d get that was beyond clueless. Bet your happy tonight you twat. Well you can wallow in your pretence that you know better than everybody else.
  18. England XI: Pickford; James, Stones, Guehi, Spence; Rice, Anderson; Rogers, Bellingham, Gordon; Kane Interesting….
  19. Well there you go. That’s why nothing is black or white in football. Not many of us would have predicted that. Hard to judge how good Spain were when France were so poor.
  20. Well, France are going to have to massively improve to get anything here. They were 2nd best by a long way in that half.
  21. I’m at that stage now. I went into this tournament very open-minded about him. In all honesty I wasn’t convinced and some might argue that if he doesn’t win Wednesday then we are no further on than under Southgate. And I’m a fan of Southgate and what he did (close your ears bolty 😊) and he’s responsible for building a great foundation and enabling these players to go deep in major tournaments. But regardless of what happens Wednesday, I like what I’ve seen of him this tournament. His honesty, his tactics, his man-management, his openness to demand more and better have been really refreshing. And I hope that can be the difference in taking us to the very least a first World Cup Final since 66.
  22. Spot on. Could it not just be a simple case of Andy Taylor out (albeit from a role that doesn’t exist anymore) and Rob Kelly in? Regardless as to whether that’s the case or not, as most of us seem to be of the opinion, this shouldn’t have anything to do with the player budget.
  23. To be fair to Masi it was me who mentioned Tutte not him. I remembered someone leaving it was Matt Taylor https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/26115875.bolton-wanderers-b-team-coach-andy-taylor-heads-exit/ I agree with your point tough, no way these coaching reshuffles will impact the playing budget…. IMO
  24. Nah, while I was trying to recall your Tuchel posts it took me back to May/June. Glad you acknowledge he gets most things right. And I also acknowledge he doesn’t get everything right and him, the club are not without debate or criticism. As I said the only thing I consistently call out is the dramatic assuredness that something is negatively definite, when it’s not. Leave it there, I like our to and fro’s as long as they don’t become Sluffy style in length and go on for days. Enjoy your day 😊👍
