(Sir) TT. "Four more years!"

I'd have him gone.

Brought in exactly for games like last night to get us over the line and served up the exact opposite. A greater capitulation and show of cowardice than anything Southgate did.

Eddie Howe would be my go to once inevitably sacked early this season. Carsley the other option that I actually don't mind, his games were the best football I've watched England play in a good number of years.

although I think the manager should always be english, i'd obviously take Pep

Hacks me off when I see Tuchel standing there before the game not singing the national anthem but then neither do some of the players. Compare that with the Argies absolutely belting it out full of National pride. You don’t have to be a Royalist just accept that this isn’t your club you’re representing it’s your bloody country so look like you mean it you overpaid arrogant tossers. England team, English manager please.

It's far down my list of criticisms of him, but each to their own.

I never used to give it a thought when it was Sven, not sure if it was just that he seemed a bit less foreign 😀

But when we were in the latter stages of this WC (Q-F onwards and therefore in with a shout of winning the trophy) it 100% took away some of the wow factor, that if we finally win the thing after 60 years, we've done it with the help of a German (of all countries). I just can't imagine the Germans having an English manager and if they did it would lessen any achievements IMO.

If the difference between winning and losing was having a foreigner in charge I'm not going to turn it down, but I'd be lieing if I said it would mean the same to me, I can get behind the players but the manager isn't able to join in singing the national anthem because when his contract ends he wants Germany to beat us. Its just not the same.

Agreed with some of the others. That was worse than anything we saw under Southgate.

The unfortunate thing is we as a country aren't very good at producing real quality English coaches/managers. There's no real forward thinking and creative managers out there, no one willing to think of something new. Plenty of pound shop Peps who have no idea how to adapt any further (Evatt a prime example).

Which filters down into the football itself. England have no identity when it comes to a style of play.

This has been going on before TT took charge though, so its definitely not a new thing. The FA have some tough decisions to make. Tearing everything up means another stagnant few years.

I agree with your last 5 words, but we can't criticise a German for not singing our national anthem!

I must admit if I played for England I'd be torn on singing the anthem, and its nothing to do with arrogance (the overpaid bit is irrelevant, they get millions whether or not they turn out for England). I never sing God Save The King anymore, I don't recognise it as a "national" anthem, but I would belt it out if it wasn't a tribute to the royal family, eg Land Of Hope & Glory or whatever and it would also help if it was an English anthem not a British one. Singing about wanting a bloke to reign over us literally sticks in my throat, I can't get the words out.

Southgate with a shit haircut, as it turns out.

For a so called elite football manager, Tuchel fooked up big time last night and showed total incompetence, even my Mrs who knows fook all about football could see what was going to happen. Don't care if he goes, no doubt the FA will stick with him for the euros.

His biggest challenge over the next couple of years, other than persuading us he's anything better or different than Southgate (no evidence yet), will be to assemble a balanced squad capable of challenging the likes of France or Spain and even getting by the Portugals and Belgiums.

We have no recognised, quality LB, limitations at RB and CBs that are ok at best. Midfield has too many who do the same things (ball winners and passers, no carriers) and, up front, no obvious replacement for Kane, who by then will be even slower than he's looked at times in this tournament.

Which, if true, just means we don't deserve to win a trophy IMO, its meant to be a reflection of the country's abilities.

If others are winning it with foreign managers I don't agree with that either (although I don't think that's happened yet?) but the overall effect is just to dilute the whole thing.

Ancelotti managing Brazil for god's sake, thankfully they were terrible. Not sure if Brazil have had a foreigner before but with this particular one they performed worse than ever before so at least they won't be encouraged to do it again. Martinez at Belgium and Graham Potter at Sweden 2 other strange one's, its one thing getting top quality from abroad but another getting championship managers.

Ted Lasso , Mike Basset , John Wayne , Churchill , Eisenhower , Vlad the Impaler , Attilla the Hun , Gengis Khan , Guan Yu the God of War , Sun Tzu .

Tuchel can fuck off to the Southgate retirement home for football cowards.

Cant disagree with you there buddy.

No foreign manager has ever won the World Cup. Had a quick google around for English managers domestically and what they've won (Prem, FA Cup, League Cup).

Eddie Howe — Newcastle, EFL Cup (2025)

Harry Redknapp — Portsmouth, FA Cup (2008)

Steve McClaren — Middlesbrough, League Cup (2004)

Howard Wilkinson — Leeds United, First Division title (1991–92), the last English manager to win England's top-flight championship.

Its pretty sad that's it.

The striker situation is utterly disastrous.

Nah - get big Sam back 4 4 fucking 2

In his first year qualifying and competition he has matched Southgate.

Now he's seen his squad at the sharp end and will know which players weren't up for it/good enough.

Another crack at the Euros for me.

See after that.

I think he gets the Euros. If he doesn't win that then he's out. They brought him in for instant success.

Simple question do you want someone who put Dan burn up front in the World Cup Semi Final while Ollie Watkins looked on from the bench taking us to the Euros??

Hadn't we used all.our subs by the time Dan went up top?

In which case, there was no option other than to try and get a goal by whatever means.

Nope, we could have put another one on.

Konsa for Gordon was the weirdest sub of them all.

no, Konsa for Gordon - 72 mins

Burn and ORielly on for James and Rice - 82mins

so at this point 6 defenders on the pitch

they score 85 and 92

so now we have to go forward

on 96 mins he brings Rashford and Toney on for 2 defenders

it was a shambles

I've not heard one person whether a fan , opponent or pundit say it was anything other than a shambles. I was starting to like TT but after that I'd be happy to see him go. Some say that he will learn a lesson from this but I'm not so sure about that. Get Kier Starmer in.
