  1. well that was pretty poor. how easy was it for reading to get through our midfield, especially in the first half? at least we gave it a go in the second, but again sam comes up with these questionable substitutions. nobody had a good game; faye and meite being the nearest to competent in my opinion. i thought oster controlled the ball with his hand in the build up to their goal though... the programme contains an interesting statistic: of 16 away games against teams in their first premiership season, we've won 3.
  2. Check out the news archive on the official site. It was close to the end of October, and the headline was 'Have Christmas on Us'. I didn't see any mention of this ??40 voucher in any of MBNA's smallprint, but Gareth Moores said 'we are delighted to be able to offer a free ??40 voucher...'!!!
  3. I've been used to it since Todd left!
  4. Our first obvious problem is that we have a decent team but still don't have a big enough squad. When key players are missing, as happened in the second half of last season, we don't cope well. Also our style of play is extremely predictable. Everyone knows what we're going to do yet teams still struggle to cope - teams other than the top 2 or 3 that is. Against the elite teams we're rarely going to be able to play at our leisurely pace and rely on scraps and set pieces. Still, it sounds like United would have beaten anyone today and we can hardly grumble when we're third.
  5. I thought Tal was the real plus point last night. Once again he looked skilful, he read the game well and has an eye for a pass. Speed looked tired. I agree about Andranik, he didn't settle down, but Fojut did really well albeit for the last 15 minutes.
  6. Mixu at Wembley against Reading... Admittedly many of the Reading team were down with cramp but it was a wonderful team goal and capped a great comeback.
  7. I am another P338 of Ceefax man, but it really is garbage - engineered by agents and bandied about by desperate journalists. Some of today's websites have again linked us with Molina, this 35-year-old Spanish keeper. With Jussi, Al-Habsi and Walker, why would be possibly be interested?
  8. no chance, this would be a real backward step. we'd become the slowest, least mobile team in the prem - if we aren't already. let's get players in their prime...
  9. My understanding was that Johnson had spoken to Wigan (& obviously Everton) but was due in Bolton this week. So to say 'after days of careful consideration...' is a bit rich considering he hadn't heard anything from us. He'll get booed at the Reebok this season but they're welcome to him at ??8.5m.
