well that was pretty poor. how easy was it for reading to get through our midfield, especially in the first half? at least we gave it a go in the second, but again sam comes up with these questionable substitutions. nobody had a good game; faye and meite being the nearest to competent in my opinion. i thought oster controlled the ball with his hand in the build up to their goal though... the programme contains an interesting statistic: of 16 away games against teams in their first premiership season, we've won 3.

Our first obvious problem is that we have a decent team but still don't have a big enough squad. When key players are missing, as happened in the second half of last season, we don't cope well. Also our style of play is extremely predictable. Everyone knows what we're going to do yet teams still struggle to cope - teams other than the top 2 or 3 that is. Against the elite teams we're rarely going to be able to play at our leisurely pace and rely on scraps and set pieces. Still, it sounds like United would have beaten anyone today and we can hardly grumble when we're third.

I thought Tal was the real plus point last night. Once again he looked skilful, he read the game well and has an eye for a pass. Speed looked tired. I agree about Andranik, he didn't settle down, but Fojut did really well albeit for the last 15 minutes.
