How Much £’s Have We All Won?
PP priced us at 8/1 for a Top 7 finish at the start of Feb, so £400 up. I’ve used some of the winnings on a Lifeline subscription and a donation to this site. I’m an erstwhile poster, now long-time lurker. No longer living in the north west, Wanderers Ways is great to read what (mostly) rational Bolton fans are thinking. The stuff written within ‘Behind The Stands’ helps me keep in touch with cultural reference points 😆! COYW - let’s do it again in 21/22 !!!

Seasons Officially Over
At least it's still possible for us to reach Gartside's pre-season target of 2 points per match, ie 92 points... ...if we win all of our remaining 20 games!

I'm flying the flag over in Newbury. Berkshire, Berkshire, ra-ra-ra!

Newport Friendly
Looks a lot worse there than it did 60 yards away at ground level. You can often tell how bad a tackle / injury is from the reaction of the players around - and there wasn't much. Anyhow, I'm not defending him - the dirty c*nt.

Newport Friendly
Didn't seem too reckless a tackle to me. It was clearly a foul, but not one which had players from either side confronting each other with their handbags. Gutted to learn Chungy will be out for most the season. Why are we fielding ?5m players against non-league teams? Was surprised when Cahill came on towards the end. Some Newport fan said their chap has a reputation for rash tackles, he picked up a few yellows and a red in quick succession after signing for them in the second half of last season. For what it's worth we were a class above and must have had 65%+ posssession. Their goal was something out of nothing. Blake was OK in the midfield areas, but when he's our only forward on the pitch it's a worrying sign. We didn't look like scoring once Klasnic was subbed.

Reo-Coker
Don't understand why we need another Muamba. Could it be Coyle is planning to line up more defensively away from home?

'have Bolton Played ?Attractive Football? Under Owen Coyle This Season?'
This perception is just more lazy journalism. A few years back we were labelled long-ball and didn?t get the credit we deserved. This season the opposite has happened. I think people have again come to conclusions from brief highlights on the telly and believe we?re attractive to watch. It is interesting that we?re so close to the top or the bottom of those tables. But the most important thing for me ? and this is something they can?t measure ? is how much more enjoyable and entertaining going to the match has been this season compared with last. Home matches anyway!

Replacement For Cahill
And now plantpot! That?ll teach me to suggest transfer targets you disagree with AND slightly underestimate their value. Hope I don?t send you apoplectic with these further suggestions of players of the standard I think we should be targeting: Nedem Onuoha, Michael Mancienne, Zoltan Gera.

Replacement For Cahill
I don?t know what they?d cost ? I?d expect around ?5m for Johnson & ?3m for Gardner. Johnson yes. As for Gardner ? he?s young, is a midfielder with energy, knows where the back of the net is (scored twice against us this season) and has 2+ years Premier League experience. If S Davis is not going to come back the player he was - then yes, this retard considers him a realistic target for BWFC.

Replacement For Cahill
Personally I'd rather us spend the summer looking for new players who would (i) bolster the squad and (ii) improve the starting XI. IMO Johnson and Gardner would do that.
-
Replacement For Cahill
You're right, we're aiming too low, trying to get the best from the relegated teams. Arsenal will be letting a few go, how about Arshavin, Nasri & Djourou?
-
Replacement For Cahill
Larsson would be high wages for an ordinary player. & Goalkeeper is the one position we don't need to look externally for. On the Blackpool front, Adam is on his way to better things. That just leaves Campbell who has scored c.12 a relegated team, but wouldn't score anywhere near as many in our side.

Replacement For Cahill
Agreed. Craig Gardner too. Muamba part-exchange!?

Just Because I Feel Like A Bit Of Patriotism.
That?s a great list. However I claim responsibility for none of those achievements. The nearest I can do is say I just randomly happened to be born on the same specific boundary of land where these things happened. Which is a bit lame isn?t it?

Eurovision Semi Final Roll Call
Mmmmmm Germany for me. Fantastic. Song that is.

Blackpool 4 Wanderers 3
Prior to FA Cup Semi, Wheater played in 9 games, of which we won 5, drew 2 and lost 2, conceding only 8.
-
Blackpool 4 Wanderers 3
A draw would keep Blackpool up if Wolves lose by 2, or if Birmingham get no more than a point in their last two & suffer a hit to their goal difference. I'd like them to stay up as they've been colourful, entertaining and they'd take up a relegation place next season. But they're so open United could have a field day. I'm more concerned about us holding on to a top half place.

Blackpool 4 Wanderers 3
Wolves's win means we now have the worst away record in the division.

Disgusting
Also 6th if Man City finish 5th and win the FA Cup. Not that we've any chance of 6th.

You Need To Have The Lows
I thought we'd beat Stoke, and so did the bookies. They had lost their last 7 away games in the Premier League, scoring just 3 goals. We have now lost 4 games this season by more than 1 goal (which isn't bad): Arsenal, Chelsea - and Stoke twice.

Disgusting
Coyle's an inflexible 4/4/2 man. I can't recall him changing formation / selections to cope with the opposition. I think against a team no better than us (on paper) he was right to let them worry about us. We should have exploited the big pitch and used the wide men but got nothing but long balls up to Davies, and that lifeless, gutless performance. Gardner wouldn't have made any difference - though might have played with more passion/fight. I really don't see the point in recalling him from Preston if he's not even getting a place on the bench.
