why only 3 points for reading? surely they'll beat derby on the last day. and their other opponents wigan and spurs now have nothing to play for. i don't think sunderland are beyond catching. if they lose at newcastle today, and then at home to 'boro next week. and we get a point at spurs, we would overtake them by beating them at the reebok. everyone seems to be expecting 3 points against sunderland. i don't know where this confidence has come from as a few weeks ago we didn't think we'd score again! we're going to have to beat them though. i think a further 4 points should be enough.

Let's hope it's 1996 all over again (that long ago - blimey!). We had Blake and de Freitas up front who were less prolific than Davies, and went to the Riverside looking for our second away win in a year. Blake, Lee and Coleman scored their first goals of the season for us and we won 4-1. Come on you Whites!!!

well that's easy for him to say. what if we'd spent ?12m on alves for just 2 goals in return. and damn football today! why does it always have to come down to sky tv money... it doesn't interest me in how much money the club get. i want to see bolton wanderers trying to win every match. i want to see the players motivated and battling for 90 minutes every game. that's been as important for me as not replacing anelka.

I wouldn't class the Newcastle game as a low - at the time I was delighted with Steinsson - but I reckon the 90th minute of that match was the turning point of our season. Newcastle failed to clear a corner, the ball bounced up to Samuel 3 yards out, he cushioned it on his forehead, let it drop, and blasted it towards goal... Damn Given / Harper flukily blocked it with his legs and Newcastle cleared. Everything, including our luck has been rotten ever since. If Samuel's shot had gone in I'm convinced we'd be safe by now.

well it was their reserves, and they had the game sewn up after 20 mins - but i agree. 14 goal attempts, ball in the net twice, kept 'em out for the last 70+ minutes... 2-0. it could have been worse, but it should have been better.

Can Steinsson play centre-back? I'd rather move him across and play Hunt at right-back than play Meite...
