empty seats at end again
I think I may have left if Horsfield had made it 2-0. Not just because the match was shite. I was pissed wet to the bone. Horsfield missed and I decided to stick it out. Glad I did, I kind of enjoyed the 2nd half. Witnessed some spirit and a few players improving.

Diouf's attitude !
Agree with Diouf's attitude. But it appeared to me at times yesterday that Kevin Nolan was being used as a target man. I still think Kev will make a striker one day. Or a centre back!

I love big Kev Davies but....
What about Davies in midfield? He's the only player at the club who ain't frightened of tackling on a wet cold day. He might win a few headers in the middle of the park when it matters as well. Good at defending set pieces. And good at attacking set pieces.

just seen the penalty appeals
Anyone see Paul Furlong get sent off for QPR yesterday? Unbelievable. He tangled with a defender when he looked to be getting clear through on goal. I thought the defender would walk being the last man. The ref decides to give Furlong a straight red!

6 Points
I think its the fact that we are "on a run" that worries Jay. If the teams below continue to pick up scraps here and there, we could be in deep dooh-dooh. And don't forget - almost every team in the bottom three tends to win more than they lose during the last couple of months of the season. Strange, but it nearly always happens. Still, I believe we will pick up at least a point from Arsenal. Why though?

just seen the penalty appeals
Funny. I said at half time that we would get a penalty in the second half. What with the conditions. So it seems we were denied two. I then got home from the match and watched the "Tiago Incident" at Anfield - when he clearly handles the ball in the box - Mike Riley put his whistle in his mouth to award it, and then didn't blow! Carragher was rightly disgruntled by this. These referees are now supposedly "professional". Yet again, they could cost clubs ??millions, players and managers their jobs (not to mention staff cuts if relegation strikes). What would the cost to Liverpool be if they fail to reach the Champs League at the end of the season - and its by one point? Don't know who reffed at the Reebok yesterday - apologies or my ignorance - but both he and Riley should be brough before the FA for their indecisions yesterday.

Kanu played okay at times yesterday. There was a moment when he went on a little dribble and slipped the perfect pass through behind our defence. The nodger it was meant for had strayed offside. But the idea was good. It made me think that Okocha could do that with his eyes shut. Sam has got to get him up the field. We cannot stress this enough. The gap between midfield and Davies has been too big in recent weeks for my liking - a lot of hard work by Big Kev has gone to waste with no support play. The difference with Utd and us the other day was the wing backs. Neville and Oshea were camped out up front on the wings. It puts so much pressure on, that they don't need to worry too much about defending. When Gardner and Hunt finally got forward yesterday - we caused big problems for WBA and eventually it told when Hunt supplied the pass for the goal. We looked a far better team with the ball on the deck yesterday. Hopefully Big Sam noticed.

Overall, thinking about it, I was on the point of walking out and going home when Horsfield when through on goal. So in theory, things cannot have been that good. Also at the end, we were fortunate that Earnshaw did not make it 2-1. Our defence was shambolic again at times yesterday. Midfiled was an improvement, Campo, Speed and Okocha upped their game, slightly, but upped it. Diouf worked hard again to try to make things happen and connected well with Nolan who had a good game. Ngotty was a major cause for concern as was Hunt. Ngotty has been a problem all season - yet when I mentioned it at the start, I was slagged off. He is having a poor, poor season. As for Poole - he had one save to make - and didn't make it. Good night Josephine!

So are you saying Diouf dived again and there was no contact? Which handball appeal? First half from JJ shot was into his body - we knew that at the match with the HT replay. What about the Nolan shot near the end?

Who should be our 2nd choice keeper?
So if Jussi needs a rest now and then, who should be inbetween the sticks to replace him? Or do you think Jussi himself should be 2nd choice?

Who should be playing at right back?
Everyone is getting on NH's back these days, so maybe its time we had a vote on this.
