cos they've played bugger all proper games yet and are essentially just hopes for a performance, rather than players we would want to rely on yet?
  2. i'll have whoever's best for the job please good players don't always make good anything else'; just look at john barnes, cracking coach and TV presenter...
  3. it's the first confirmation i've seen

well congratulations on your office, but if those people were interested in technological bang for their buck, they wouldn't have ipods i'm very happy to admit they're pretty, and if that's what you want, fair enough, but in terms of capacity for the price, and extra features for the price, it's just a plain no contest i'm off now, but before i go there is such a thing as an incorrect opinion; my philosophy tutor woulc lay a ragging egg if he heard people saying there wasn't as anything other than a joke this is a situation of testable fact; creative labs and other brands offer more kit for your money, ipod trades on excellent branding and it's fashion icon status, in order for everyone else to compete they simply have to beat them in other catagories cya lads, try to calm down a bit, it's a music player, don't let it give you a hernia

What the fcuk is "an incorrect opinion"? Nob. an opinion that is wrong? no? ok don't get your knickers in a twist mate; i'm just providing balence because most people think ipod's are the ragging nuts

It's a good job you don't come across as a smart arse know it all who just dismisses other people's opinions without actually adding any substance to the discussion yourself. It's a good job i didn't just bold the things i added after dismissing an incorrect opinion

james sinclair and that polish butcher lad are both still there and young enough
  10. the CPS aren't under pressure, it's just a depressing reality that small minded nobodies can use the system to bring personal vendetta's to a head. A few boro fans within the CPS will be pushing this, it's a bloody farce

That's me On the other hand, the iPod is a design classic, Apple are very good at making stylish stuff that has a quality user interface too. Due to it's popularity, there are more add-ons on the market, software and also a larger user community. this adds on thing is a widely held belief but it's total rubbish i'm afraid there are lots of things that only work for ipods, i'll grant you that, but all of them have equivalents that work for any audio device and cost 1/3 of the price or less ipods are just like PC World over priced mid range equipment marketted viciously at people who don't know any better it's a crime really, it just exploits people who don't realise they're being ripped off

yeah, you can get radio transmitters that work for all audio devices for ??6 including postage (proud owner of radio station:D:P)
  13. maaarsh replied to Maggie Tate's topic in Geeks Corner
get something by creative labs instead put simply- cheaper more functions(external hard drive functionality, and greater sound options) replaceable battery(ipod ones can only be done by apple themselves, at a charge of ??60 plus postage) basically the ipod is fashionista con designed to make people pay over the odds because they don't even know alternatives exist
  14. Sky Sports News understand Newcastle are in talks to sign Real Madrid star Luis Figo. Figo looks set to leave Real Madrid this summer as he does not appear to be in coach Wanderley Luxemburgo's first-team plans. The Portuguese ace lost his place in the side at the back end of last season with Michael Owen squeezing him out of the side. Figo still has 12 months left on his contract at Real, but he has indicated he will not be happy if he is forced to sit on the bench. The news has alerted a number of clubs across Europe with Liverpool, Bolton and Valencia all linked with the skilful winger. It is believed that Figo has instructed his advisors to help find a new club and it appears England could be his destination. Figo has never hidden his desire to try his luck in The Premiership and Newcastle could be ready to offer him that opportunity. Magpies boss Graeme Souness is keen to bring in high-profile signings after a disappointing campaign last term and it is believed he is in negotiations with Figo. Souness will be hoping he can persuade the former Barcelona star to make the move to Tyneside and his possible arrival would provide a major lift ahead of the new season. what a dull piece of shit he is; he always came across as reasonable and mature, then he goes and proves he has no ambition and signs for an ailing club that's won bugger all
  15. for newcastle just come up on skysports his agent says he wants to go, and newcastle want him sucker for punishment
  16. like what you like; i'm not arsed just people are getting pissy at me for calling them crap ragging post modernists
  17. are Interpol not just a poor US version of Joy Division? there are similarities; not particularly; they have a similar tonal quality sometimes but the song structure is markedly different; i'm not asking for total invention, just adding something to the party, rather than taking a genre and doing a pop pastiche of it who said that Nirvana started grunge? not me did the Melvins come before Mudhoney? yes and the Cheeky Girls attempted something new a few years ago - does that make them better than the Foo Fighters in your mind? no, and no they didn't; congratulations on a spurious analogy
  18. the idea that nirvana were founders of grunge is popular, but rather amusing They were the first band to sell it effectively, i'll give you that, but the Melvins were their first, and Alice in Chains and Soundgarden were better exponants he's perfectly talented as a guitarist and drummer to achieve what he attempts, but I can't recall him ever really doing something i haven't heard done before my musical taste is pretty eclectic, but then everyone says that; most played bands in the last 3 months are, according to winamp- Mclusky, Radiohead, Interpol, Al Green, British Sea Power, Arcade fire, The Rakes, sigur ros, the beatles and dEUS
  19. they're formulaic and dull i don't mind pop music being pop music, but when people hold guitars and claim they're more talented than pop artists, only to make dull music that is little more than pop with guitars, it's annoying and hypocritical they're just a slightly louder version of busted, with much more pretention to being musically gifted basically, they play standard chords in standard song arrangements; i don't mind simplicity, but all out copying of genre's that are done to death is just pathetic
  20. they're an old side now; only lee and clark are under 30 it's bound to take effect eventually, and the austrailian invincibility myth is over played in the UK media asianstan have beaten them in Tests, India won a test series against them in Australia; frankly we're comfortably better than those two sides, so on our home patch i felt quietly confident even before all of this happened
  21. they're not that great i'll be off watching some wonderful obscure band at Reading whilst they're headlining the main stage in front of 50,000 13 year old fans
  22. congratulations, you caught me repeating david Lloyds joke
  23. take that you aussi bastards
  24. i very much doubt we have broken the record; maybe it's talking about the total package, i assume Diouf's on a fair bit more than deano ever got
  25. why are we letting out players piss about in friendly's all summer, rather than getting a rest? this match only serves to make money for the Greek FA, they should pay his bloody wages over the summer if they want him in this waste of time
