How Many Mosques Are There In Bolton?
agentorange replied to globaldiver's topic in Behind The Stands - 'Classics'
Spot on. and remember Muslims were living in this country before Protestants -
One more. Colin Stein. Was there at Easter Road when he ended the Tims nine in a row with the best header of all time. Feck me Nostalgia aint what it used to be
-
Memories of Wembley '77 will sustain me forever. Havent been to a Scotland game since losing to Brazil at Italia '90. Wont go back until we play with the " feck you" we,re better than you and we're going to prove it attitude of teams '75- '80

Germany 1996 shirt has still got pride of place in my wardrobe
-
Never needed to get out of second gear. Feck knows what he'd make of the game today with all its brainless , 6'20 muscle bound ,skill-less feckers

All this attention on Soap JCL's. I on the other hand admire the resilience and commitment of Ian Beale, Emily Bishop and Deirdre Barlow towards making my viewing experience so memorable over the last decade

sky + it watched it this morning he was right about one thing HE WAS THE BEST MIDFIELDER OF IS TIME 2nd best player in a Gers shirt i've ever seen (after the incomparable Davie Cooper). Hope he gets well - though doubt he ever will

Blackwood Bar in Edinburgh (Newington) early 80's. Opened at 8.00 am - every punter in place pissed by 9.00 and fighting by half past. Glory days -
Agree- but some of whats required needs to come from the pitch as well. The biggest contrast between Stoke and us isn't the fans its the attitude of the players. They (as limited a bunch as you're ever likely to see in the Prem)are working their cocks off to stay in the division. Our lot seem to be sleepwalking half the time
-
Off point i s'pose but i'm getting a bit sick of the wankfest over how great Stoke fans are. 15 months ago they wanted Pulis out. They were unable to get above about 12 thou a game until half way through last season. They have a whiff of staying up and< not unnaturally, they are getting behind their team but didn't we do the same last season when every tw@t was writing us off? I work in Stoke- a big %age of their so-called great fans are JCL's who will disappear like snow in June when they take their place back in the Championship. Prediction- they don't win another home game this season. When the chips are down and their Prem survival depends on it teams will go to the Brit and compete for those headers they would avoid earlier in the season. Oh and i've been a couple of times this season including our game there. The atmosphere aint that great

Blackburn -
Stoke wont get out of bottom three now= doomed wba=doomed one of Pompey, Newcastle,Blackburn,Hull, Us and Boro- Blackburn for me but if we gent nowt from next two????????
-
Puygrenier should have come back after Stoke. Megsons error- obstinate b'stard will probably stick with AoB
-
So we're agreed them. New Labour has and never had owt to do with socialism.
-
Right. So it was "socialism" that led to an unregulated banking industry fecking each and every one of us over, an over inflated housing market, a rampant service sector completely self serving and a neglected and despised (by the powers that be and the Square Mile) manufacturing base.Oh and a country where until very recently the gap between rich and poor was widening. That Karl Marx fecker has a load to answer for

Blair and Brown have - hence the mess neo-liberal/Reaganomics have got us in now

TOP MAN. My grandad was a Durham Miner at a time when the Union numbered 1,000,000 and working class solidarity meant something more than shaving your head and draping the Union Jack around yourself at international football matches that , truth be told, mean feck all.

What a Friend- strongly fancied according to the same source that gave me Beech Road @ 50/1 a number of years back. No comebacks if you do your money though

Cant be arsed doing much more than flicking thru the thread but heres my take fwiw. From my lofty position in the Gordon Banks suite (freebie- the first time i've never paid to watch a game since i was about 8 courtesy of a mate at work ) we were no worse and no better than most of the games i've been to this season. The games weve won away and most we've won at home for that matter we've hardly dominated have we? Look at West Ham both home and away- we've scored at the right times in both games and gone on to win. Last night Stoke did the same to us as we have done to teams this and every other season in the last 5- been resilient, made something happen up front and stifled the feck out of the other team. Saying that Samuel,OBrien and Steinnson were so poor they must now be on borrowed time. Individual performances cost us last night- not Megsons tactics, lack of effort or anything else. AND Mark Davies was the only class show on the pitch

Is This Our Best Squad In The Prem
agentorange replied to worthy10's topic in Terrace Talk - 'Classics'
AGREED. Though i'd argue that Samuel though defensively better is also a weak link in the current side. Both are very poor in possession and considering that as full backs they probably receive the ball in more space than any other players in the team that is criminal. Steinsonn does a lot of chest thumping a la Nolan and can get forward but the points raised about his defensive frailties are spot on.
