  1. New Labour= Old Tory. Same horse, different jockey, Under New Labour- no redistribution of wealth, gap between rich and poor wider than ever. Social mobility declined. could go on - cant be arsed. But under Blair/Brown Britain has become more greedy, more under Yankee neo-liberal capitalist control, all in all a worse place to live ( u prob agree with that one) but its got fuck all to do with Socialism
  2. And a classic from '75. Bremner on the fringes of this one as well. I,ve fecked this up. This one is in the original post isnt it?
  3. remind me when that was again. Must have missed it. John Major couldn't organise a bun fight in a bakery let alone his own party. And if you view New Labour as "socialist"- well
  4. please elaborate. Cant think of one thing he did to make this place a better place to live in
  5. I hate Clarkson. Particularly the way he thinks he's got the "common touch" and how he speaks for the "man in the street" coz he wears jeans on telly and makes politically correct statements about political correctness. You dont talk for me you wanker. All you do is pander the lowest common denominator. F#ck off from my telly and my newspapers you talentless c~nt. And take Eamonn Holmes with you. If Brown had any balls as Head of government he'd have Clarkson shot.
  6. won't be at Newcastle longer than 6 months. Stoke or somewhere as shit probably (if anywheres as shit as Stoke)
  7. Is the Keegan Bremner dust up from Charity Shield there? Cant be arsed following the link. Was great - like 2 dwarves squaring up at end of a bad night out
  8. Take no pleasure in saying it...but firmly of the view that Kev will be playing Championship football next season
  9. Lazytown. Specially the episode where Robbie Rotten collects up all the rubbish and the machine explodes all over Lazytown. Sportacus comes to the rescue and they all dance at the end.Classic of the genre. Question Time is quite good as well
  10. We'll win 2-0. Goal in each half. They'll be knackered after recent tough games and that Jo will be shite.
  11. Big test on Sat against Arteta. Be more inclined to get overboard about the lad if he can out pass that c@nt
  12. Richardson - nippy keeps the ball well Barry Robson (Celtic) - incisive passer Celtic have just signed another midfielder Be intersting to see if Richardson plays against the Toon- was left out in midweek ("injury")
  13. Probably the finest post i've read on this site so far. Good on you sir. I admit it. I have been an intermittent supporter since my first game at Burnden (gainst Bristol City first game back in old first division). I am not from the area or even from England, although i lived in Bury (does that count?) for bout 6 years when i probably attended most of my Bolton fixtures (moved to Cheshire not long after play off defeat against Watford). In a way then for me the excitement comes more from seeing good quality football/a good game than grinding out results to stay clear of relegation. Over the years esp recently i have become "more" of a supporter- go to the odd away (not Blackburn thank feck)game and been to most at home this season. I hope though i can still be as objective as when i was a "casual" observer. The problem being described here regarding fans expectations/aggressiveness is a symptom of how things have gone in football/society in general. People are generally more impatient and more aggressive in how they voice their impatience than 30 years ago. Ironically at a time when hooliganism is on the wane (supposedly) the aggression is targetted in more insidious ways towards "your own". I want Bolton to do well. I still like going to games at the Reebok. But i will probably keep going even if we are relegated. Things could be worse. The team i supported as a boy (and still do) Glasgow Rangers and their fans have made me feel far more ashamed than a minority (and it is a minority) who choose to scapegoat an individual for matters which are as you so eloquently describe largely beyond his control. No doubt if Nolan IS sold (which in my opinion he should be) and we go on a run of poor results, Megson will be pilloried for his decision. Fair do's - but he has made a brave decision. Lets get behind him and the team on Saturday. All game long - no matter the score
  14. Whats Hunt got to do with it? .... and while you ask probably SKD despite a throwback to the good old days performance tonight
  15. Spot on. Personally i criticise when players make mistakes (mostly in frustration) but try to get behind the team throughout the game On Nolan however, i think a honest appraisal of what he brings to our side is called for - one that isnt coloured by the usual fat tw@t/talisman comments. My view? he's gone. Cant do it any more.
  16. Reserve judgement until 1) he gets match fit 2) he plays in the same team as Elmander (if Megson ever picks them that is) 3) i see him making an attempt on goal/going one on one with the keeper BTW- his overhead kick looked like it was heading for the goal- why no appeal for a pen
  17. Dont talk shite. Thats what?
  18. Gets on the ball and comfortable in possession. Both attributes NONE of our present midfield (havent seen enough of Mark Davies) have. He's no world beater and cant open up defenses but he's better than what we've got
  19. 35 mins and he was goosed. Taylor was brilliant first half - but as soon as Tugay came on our whole midfield never got a look in coz none of them wanted the ball or looked comfortable in possession. Hope Mark Davies steps up to the plate but if he doesnt we need to splash the cash. If we cant get Veloso get in for Richardson Meggo
  20. Nolan adds new meaning to the word "anonymous". Muamba who has been our best player recently had to run for him and tackle for him. Poor tw@t is going to develop a hump back carrying "our talisman" around for the rest of the season. People quick to slag Megson but where was the leadership on the park 2nd half?. Who was he having a pop at when they were coming off at half time?
  21. cant see anything other than a win for us. 2-0 (MAKAPAKA and Steinsonn) We'll beat Spuds Sat too
  22. What i do know is that we still havent got a new midfield player and we feckin need one badly
  23. Wigan are in for him apparently. First Hull now pies - are we going to lose out to every fecker this window?
  24. Another one draped in the Union Jack . Murray can say who he represents, his politics and national identity are his to decide. He probably isnt anti English and if he is so feckin what? He is probably anti- British or at least (wrongly imo) identifies his Scottishness with being anti Yookay. Again its his business. I'm not that keen on Murray meself- though i wasnt that keen on McEnroe when he was a yoof either and i admire the guy a lot now- but i dont hate anyone because of their nationality. Apart from Jimmy Hill ( coz he's a poof)
  25. Maybe's aye maybe's nay- they NEVER go back though
