Petrov is under contract for another 12 months. He had a clause in his contract which automatically extended it for a further 12 months if he played a certain number of games. As he played practically every game last year the clause was met comfortably so whether he likes it or not he is under contract until summer 2013

NRC hasnt gone yet.....but he can go as per his contract. He just has to put it in writing and he is released. However, there cant be many clubs willing to pay him what we are paying him so its to be seen whether he actually puts it in writing or not.......

Mate of mine is a Close Protection Security Specialist and was working on Sunday night at the player of the year awards. I was talking to my mate last night and he was telling me how he was speaking to Zat Knight for a while who was in bits that we had been relegated and was desperately wanting to stay to help the club bounce back. He also spoke to David Wheater who basically said that the knee injury in his opinion isnt as bad as the club made out. He has been told by a physio that he will be back in light training in 6-8 weeks apparently. (Also David Wheater's missus is an absolute stunner) And the best news of the bunch - he was looking after Muamba at the De Vere Hotel Entrance whilst he was waiting for a car to pick him up (which was 20 minutes late) and Muamba was talking about the Cardiac Arrest ordeal and how he has no memory of it. He basically told my mate that he could have claimed on his insurance and would have got ?5 million instantly....but this would have meant that his playing career was over as he wouldnt be able to get insurance again meaning he couldnt play. So he hasnt claimed on the insurance as he is determined to play next season. He even said that he would be back in training in a couple of weeks! He said that if it happens again then he will have to probably call it a day and claim off the insurance.....the man has some bottle. He even signed his programme to me as my mate asked for it, and gave me his Awards goodie bag which was nice of him. Top Bloke

According to Nixon, Petrov isnt out of contract as he played enough games to automatically activate a clause in his contract....so he actually now has 12 months to run on his contract and he will be staying unless we get an offer to buy Petrov from someone and we accept it

Just got a text from a mate who works at the training ground - Steinsson has just been told he is being released. Im pretty gutted about it but not surprising......he also seems to think that SKD, Ricketts and Petrov are all staying

According to Alan Nixon, Zat Knight wants to stay as he thinks he will play next year, but he hasnt been offered a new deal. Maybe Coyle has got some sense after all......
