Think we need to just accept that Gale is this years scapegoat and move on. It was GT last year, JDC at the start of this season and now it naturally has to be somebody else's turn. Fans need to have individuals to blame
-
Not seeing many comments about Gale having a bad attitude - weird that innit. Unless all the WW psychologists are just having a day off.
-
This is a fantastic example of what the problem is now though. No mention of the fact we were in a very good position with 10 games left and basically gave up? The same players that lifted when Jules took over, just suddenly downed tools? Or did the manager not get the best out of them? Anyway, it's all good in hindsight. I just think we're extremely patient as a fanbase - other clubs would expect more, I imagine.
-
Your last sentence is a superb summary 👏
-
I hope you're right, pal - I really do. We've been waiting for it to click since SS came in and no doubt there's been moments when we thought it had e.g Birmingham (H) last season. I suppose at what point do you accept it isn't going to click? For me, the end of last season and so far this season has been well below everybody's expectations (if we're being completely honest). We've endured a season of hope and patience rather than enjoyment. I've been quite vocal on here in saying that this management period has sucked all the enjoyment out of me and a lot of my mates. 12 of us sit together and I think only 3 have reached double figures in games this season. Whether we go up or not - this season has taken it's toll.
-
No doubt, Gonzo. There's been some fantastic moments- but lets not forget the 80 odds minutes before the highlights We've slogged our way through games and then showed unbelievable resilience to get back in to games - I think that's SS' biggest and possibly only plus IMO
-
I'll tell you what. This season has been easily the most miserable season since I've supported BWFC. Before all you dinosaurs pipe up and tell me your most miserable one, this is just my opinion. With the exception of, I think, Port Vale at home and Exeter Away, every single game over the last 6-months has been a slog. Whether it's the absolute shite we've seen today or the draws against team we should be beating., it's been seriously tough viewing. Immense credit to those who have stuck with it and question marks to those who still think what they are seeing is okay - we're achieving complete mediocrity.
-
I've never really noticed tbh, but now that you mention it. He goes to these rallies acting as though he's neutral when he clearly isn't. Think he might have accidently included himself signing along with Rule Britannia on a recent video.
-
The thing is, he's sober, filming people who are evidently too pissed to put together a reasoned argument as to why they don't want to be filmed - this then naturally makes them look stupid or confrontational. I'm sure a lot of these people are actually decent human beings, just trying to enjoy themselves. It's laughable that he thinks he's smarter than everyone else because he obviously has his pre-prepared spiels which he uses when somebody challenged him. It's not all bad though, my personal highlight was the one where his mate got his camera smashed and then cried to the police; the same police who's job they make harder by antagonising people. Excellent irony.
-
Properly, properly winds me up this lad. I think he genuinely believes he's doing a public service and is one of the good guys. In reality, he's out filming vulnerable people, often antagonising them hoping for a reaction. Every single video, there's somebody who reacts badly to being filmed and end up either kicking off with him or somebody else, some get locked up while others surely do massive reputational damage. I watch his videos which makes me part of the problem, I know. I'd be interested to hear other views on this?

You're obviously a fan of SS and fair fucks. Where's the improvement since he's come in? I don't think any players have improved and every single loan player has declined.
-
Elaborate then!? What has improved? Did he not take over a club ready to be promoted, IE took us as far as he could and we needed someone else to take us to the next level? Performances are a pretty good indicator I would say!? I do actually care how we play - not just about the result. So we tossed off last season then, glad you agree with that one atleast. No idea who we would get in - it's hypothetical.
-
Nope. This isn't reactive - check my previous posts if you need to. I'm very much of the opinion that we haven't improved under SS. We're the best supported club in the league, one of the highest budgets and some of our fanbase seem to be content with the fact we are crawling our way to the play-offs. Love your optimism desperado but i'm worried we're settling for the bare minimum
-
Which part do you disagree with jmjhb?
-
What's your point?
-
This bloke is the worst manager in our recent history. He's taken over a team ready to take the next step and be promoted and turned us in to a whimsical, pathetic, shambles of a club. Can anybody honestly tell us what has improved since he's joined? Don't give me a load of bollocks about how we've been unbeaten for X amount of games because we've all watched and seen how shit we are. We tossed off last season when he came in, which has gone completely under the radar. The only way this will be proven wrong is if we get promoted, which I highly doubt we will. It sounds mental to say but.... would we have a better chance of going up if we made a managerial change now? P.S - I know this isn't a realistic option but surely even the most loyal SS would make this change now?
-
Said this midweek too. We very rarely look like the better team.
-
Apologies, I meant freshen-up in terms of a new manager coming in a bringing new ideas and new optimism, rather than fresh faces.
-
I'm not sure I agree with him being up against it. He didn't inherit a team struggling towards the bottom of the league, it was a group of players who were evidently just not quite good enough to get promoted and needed a freshen-up. Unfortunately, SS didn't bring that in any way, shape or form. You're obviously way more ITK than the rest of us because I wasn't aware that half the team wanted out. Getting rid would be mental, but that doesn't mean it's been a success up to now - it's been a tough grind.
-
Does anybody else feel like we've been waiting for everything to click under SS since he came in? I'm sure this time last season we were in a strong position (maybe even challenging for automatics?) and completely tossed it off - we had the opposite of a new manager bounce, whatever you'd call that. I remember SS basically got a pass because they weren't his players and he kept making digs at how individuals weren't performing in post-match interviews. I'm not sure what my point is here other than, up to now, it still hasn't clicked IMO. The amount of late goals is obviously great but I'd rather we didn't need them. I've not looked at the stats but I bet Lincoln and Cardiff haven't needed as many late goals. Unless it all suddenly falls into place, i'm worried. Happy Friday 😂

I really don't get this hate towards Gale. He's a league 1 winger for a reason - he shows moments of brilliance, followed by bad decision making/greed. If he made the right decision more often that not then he wouldn't be playing at this level. This goes for every single one of our players. It's also just been decided that he has an attitude problem because apparently he looked like he was sulking when he was on the bench - so what? SS obviously thinks his attitude is good enough so i'll go with his opinion on this one. I personally prefer a player who is happy to take a risk rather then take the easy/safe option
-
Pretty disappointing world cup really, never really felt like we got going. Wasn't expecting us to beat India but with the dropped catch and our openers not firing, we never really gave ourselves a chance. I've seen an interview with Baz where he's waffling on about how much we have achieved over the last few years. Anyone know what he's referring to?
-
Both Buttler and Salt and due a due a big score...
-
Bowled beautifully so far today 🤞

I think if we were fighting relegation, playing away to 3rd in the league and created as many chances as they did and came away with a point, we'd be saying we we're fantastic. I know a few Blackpool fans who also thought they were fantastic on Saturday. I don't know how to answer your last points because they don't make any sense. That's the issue with this forum at times, you can't have an opinion without being accused of being so far one way or the other.
