  2. Next thing she will be inviting Merkel for dinner. I was reading Merkels biography on wiki this week, and noticed that her husband is called Joachim Sauer. That makes her mrs Sauer (kraut)?
  3. OMFG it gets worse I gasp like a Fish at each fresh outrage.

I need to stop watching the news, it is all so scary. I should get more into gardening and my meditation.
  7. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
Yes it is scary because Merkel is being terrible about it. The Germans will end up owning everything. This is a country take over. The bankers will be buying all this up too.

There is rioting in Athens live on bbc news, anarchists, social workers, public, methodists etc petrol bombs. Greece is a happy country in the happy EU
  9. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
That is very interesting. I havent heard about that and it sounds like it may throw light on the trouble that was going on in the Greece and Germany discussions in Athens. They kept bringing ww2 into it, and our news channels would never say what that was about.

I wasnt being sarcastic, it is genuine. I didnt know about it. The post that MalcolmW did educated me. I didnt know about that and the way he worded it was superb, I enjoyed it. I enjoy learning things. I do not like being rude to people and it upsets me if people ever think I am rude, because I rarely am. It would be a lovely world if everyone was nice to each other. I am watching at the moment a wonderful concert en France á Paris for the Bastille day celebrations. It is an outdoor concert next to the Eiffel Tower, they are saying half a million people are there but I dont think there are so many. But what a quality and wonderful concert in the beautiful Sunshine. In fact it has now gone dusk and la tour is lit up splendidly. It will be going on until half eleven. Vive la France. I am euro sceptic but I love Europe. Appologies if I came across as being sarcastic, I can assure I wasnt, I thank MalcomW for the story about Brown and Blair.

That is highly entertaining and amusing. Very well written that, thank you. It is a wonderful world full of wonderful people.

You and Birch-Chorley know your stuff. What is the reason that Brown was determined to thwart him? That is interesting, I cant remember that.

What part of my friendly discussions caused your disparagement?
  14. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
Yes this is part of, but not the only reason why the UK didnt stop pound sterling and move to the euro. There are a few factors. One of them was that after spending 6 billion pounds trying to keep it within the guidlines they saw as necessary for joining, the UK was forced to exit the program within two years after the Pound Sterling came under major pressure from Currency Speculators. There are several reasons.

Confuse whom? Who are you referring to?
  16. All these happy countries.
  17. Let me understand this correctly. You are saying that Fox hunting is legal and actively happening in Scotland? And that the snp is voting to stop it happening in England ( and Wales )? If that is so, it is proper nose thumbing and trouble making.
  18. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
    Germany knows this too.
  19. I think you are right there. there is a sort of civil war going on here , They are going to be trouble from now on. It would have been better to give them Independance.
  20. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
    Agreed. Those Wars bankrupted Britain.
  21. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
Greece already owe Germany 70 billion and France 30 billion ( I think I read that ). And Greece have had to forfeit control of their economy to that lot now. They effectively have lost their sovereignty, its like an occupation . Germany own one country already then. and so it begins. The thing Greece were complaining about Germany and ww2 was that at the end of the war ALL Germany`s debts were wiped!! I can see what Greece are saying. From the look of the Greek folk, they hate whats going on and are very very angry, this EU is just one big happy country isnt it
  22. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
well this is it, its a minefield.
  23. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
I think the NHS is wonderful and vital. I hope this wont be dismantled in this EU dictatorship in the coming years.
  24. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
It is another example how the whole EU thing is configured around making jobs and money for the people at the top. And Germany is in it to take over.
  25. overseas replied to Big E's topic in Behind The Stands
They have a single currency in Europe. You know why the UK hasnt joined it? It is because if we did then the people on the stock exchange wouldnt be able to make money on the pound.
