I picked it up off your ma. She had a crumbly crust and all

Really? I get called a 'Wigan cunt' in Bolton and a 'Bolton twat' in Wigan so I must have picked up something

Never seen her directly but Charlie Brooker did a segment on her. Horrible Tory slag

Liverpool V League Clubs
It's the same with everything, like when one lobby group or another tries to ban car radios or make the speed limit 20mph and they drag up some poor sod whose kid got run over. Yes, it's very sad what happened to them but their emotion is no basis to make such huge decisions

As far as I can tell, she was cloned from a scraping from one of Thatcher's horns when she died

I objected to the Hillsborough thread as well. Lovely view from up here on the moral high ground

Banning standing because of Hillsborough is like banning all planes because of 9/11. Huge overreaction that fails to take into account the various fuck ups that led to it

Salford City Reds
Oh no, Wigan are losing. That is a shame.

In terms of football media, Raphael Honigstein is excellent. Knows more about the English game that most English journos and is even better on Bundesliga

La Liga Ref Suspended For Doing His Job
Are they not? My information must be duff/out of date So where does it stand now? He's banned and West Ham aren't going to court? edit: Never mind, Guardian just published the story

You can see where BigE is coming from. After all, it's not like Widnes have ever had a benefactor bankroll them...

RU has the good fortune to be an upper/middle class, southern sport. Hence far more money knocking about among the fanbase that can be squeezed out of them so the more advertisers will pay. Similar to golf and F1, the amount of sponsorship money is way higher than you'd expect based just on numbers of fans

La Liga Ref Suspended For Doing His Job
Seems odd that the West Ham legal case thing isn't getting more media attention, it's pretty unprecedented isn't it?? Seems a slippery slope to me once we start crying to the courts over referees

La Liga Ref Suspended For Doing His Job
Fair point. But if they'd just overturned the ban then nobody would be talking about it, it's the fact that they've come down on this guy so hard that's the issue. There'll be similar decisions several times a week through the divisions and I'm not having that every ref gets suspended/relegated
-
Salford City Reds
I beg your fucking pardon?!?

Can you imagine if that appeared on an Everton or United board? Fuck me, there'd be a media shitstorm

La Liga Ref Suspended For Doing His Job
As we often hear on MOTD etc, if you raise your hands to the face then that's a red card offence
-
La Liga Ref Suspended For Doing His Job
Ref sends Ronaldo off for sticking his hand in someone's face, not exactly GBH but it's a red card (imagine his reaction if the roles were reversed). Ref has now been suspended for a month, will not be appointed to any further Real Madrid matches this season and is 'in grave danger of being relegated from the list of Liga match officials'. Bear in mind this is before they've even heard Real Madrid's appeal against the red card (wonder how that'll go...). Absolute piss take

Salford City Reds
If they wanted to be United they would be, the ground is only pissing distance away

The Sea At Dawlish
Short answer: No Also, nice to see Pavel Nedved still getting a game
-
Salford City Reds
They were the Red Devils before United were, to be fair

Millwall 1 Bolton 1
I dunno, the FA Cup game had it's moments (mainly due to me being thick). Running for the train at London Bridge, heard the doors beep and just jumped on the first carriage we reached. This was, of course, packed to the gills with Millwall with the next carriage (separated by coppers) full of Bolton winding them up. Oh, and I had colours on... thankfully I had my jacket zipped up but we spent the entire journey in total silence lest our accents let on our true allegiance edit: On that note, apparently it's rail replacement buses between London Bridge and South Bermondsey that day so not sure how they plan on segregating it as (if i remember rightly) that caged path to the away end runs direct from the station platform
