  1. We had a great win in 1985 against them when Charlie Wright was caretaker manager. I think it was 3-1 and sealed his appointment on a full time basis. Full time whistle also signalled a pitch invasion from the Burnden Paddock
  2. I guess you’re really a bury fan
  3. Charlton also had a squad capable of promotion,as Did Bradford and probably MK Dons as they had finished above us in the previous relegation season, so I assume their players were better than ours...understand your logic but PP did not simply meet expectations. He turned around a poor championship squad of low confident players against a background of financial chaos, under a transfer embargo and his captain & most creative player incurred season ending injuries in August. Lost his leading scorer on January deadline day,so I would say he may have had a strong squad (on paper) but he dealt with issues that no other manager in the division had to contend with.
  4. Bollocks. He had League 1 standard players who had been lucky to previously been contracted to a championship club. Where are they now???

  6. Fair point but if we have accumulated 30 points by Christmas then I would prefer they continue with the same tactics as whatever we are doing it works for the players in our squad
  7. Relief is the correct description. The pressure on results in the last 2 years has been unprecedented and combined with our financial situation PP will in future years be remembered as a saviour. It’s unlikely he will be revered like SA and BR but I think the wrong appointment in 2016 and we could have gone the way of the likes of Pompey,Coventry and Luton and slid further
  8. The owners are Italian They also own Udinese There approach is typically Italian and firing coaches is a frequent occurrence.
  9. Just looking around League 1 teams and the list of our ex-players really shows how good a job he has done for us. Howard,Spearing,Clayton,Feeney,Trotter,Pratley,Clough,Wilbraham,Cullen,Henry,Long etc...

I think Barnsley had a half decent start and Sunderland won a couple early season gamesIn fact Sunderland 5 points Barnsley 7 and Burton 4

On another note, how many points did Burton,Barnsley and Sunderland have last season after 6 games?
  12. Where you there v Darlington 1985 and Bristol City 1987? Also August Bank holiday v Bury where Winston White looked a world beater!!
  13. We need another front man. I would like to see us bring in a striker from L1or L2,on a loan to buy basis. We can try to develop them and in the long run they are our player/asset. Stockley at Exeter would be a prime candidate

For evidence of what a great manager he is take a look at how well Bradford have done since June 2016
  15. Are we not trying to convince Chelsea to loan us their young left back DaSilva?
  16. This will be the key to our survival. The standard is high and last year there were 3 weaker teams-time will tell if this is the case this time around . Hopefully the FFP and embargoes means there might be a few basket cases,eg QPR,Birmingham
  17. Really?? Why then are we considered relegation certs by the bookies,Sky,bbc, talksport etc...
  18. Played for Burton last season, started his career at Crewe
  19. I don’t think we would be interested in Dowel as wouldn’t Oztumer play in a similar role. For central midfield we need some one who can provide us with a platform to play. A younger version of Karl Henry
  20. Could be a tactical bid to force Bradford into a deal for Wyke?
  21. We have already invited Onuoha to join us in Scotland. He didn’t turn up!
  22. I don’t think it’s possible for logistical reasons ????
