Well it's not the starting line up I would have chosen. In a game like this need fight all over the pitch and no potential liabilities so I wouldn't have started either Vic or Maghoma. Hope they both prove me wrong.

Think that's a fair summary Eddie. I don't think anyone's mentioned that that back 3 could easily have conceded 3 or 4 midweek and conceded 3 yesterday. Should it have been changed for yesterday? I for one hope we change for Tuesday and I'd play Taylor in the middle. What's others preferred option from those available?

Could just as easily have lost that some great saves by Coleman but a win is a win.

Portsmouth were strong, physical well organised and the ref bought them falling down at the slightest touch. I don't think they are a great side at all they just did a job on us. Charles scores that goal and it's a different game but too many of ours didn't have good games. Both wing backs and Santos proved again if you play up on him, match him physically and don't give him time he struggles.

In the last 2 games I've noticed we seem to be more willing to take a shot on and this has made a difference. Alright their keeper should have saved the first but that's what happens when you at least have a go. Long may it continue.

If we had a forward who could actually give us some possession up front and bring others into play we'd be a good side. Vic loses it far too cheaply there for me and next minute it's in the back of our net.

Taking into account injuries and conditions this could come down to managerial tactics. Steve Evans like him or loathe him is as good a manager as anyone at this level and very experienced. Let’s see how Evatt sends them out for the battle which it will be. Head says 1-1 but heart says 2-0.

I think it's clear now that Vic and Dion shouldn't be playing together and made more apparent by JDB's impact yesterday. As others have said they are too similar, both can't hold the ball up and bring others into play meaning we generally lose possession. The times they do get in front of their man when its played up to them they generally either turn into trouble, do too much and rarely play it simple. If I remember rightly yesterday Vic had a chance to get a shot off nearing half time on the edge of their box, chose not to (something you could level at many of our players) and lost possession. Seconds later the ball is down our right and Jones made that 'tackle' and gets sent off. The worst that could have happened taking the shot on was a goal kick running the clock down. Think it's got to be Dion with another preferably JDB from now on. BTW Dempsey doesn't look fit enough to play at the moment clearly carrying that back injury.

Shoretire is simply not ready for this level of football yet. Don't know why Evatt doesn't see this. Must be good in training. I don't get our reluctance to have a shot. Now the dust has finally settled on the Kachunga incident I must say I find the hypocrisy of Ian Evatt representing the Club a little baffling. If any ordinary fan had been seen to be hitting another fan or opposition fan in the ground then they would no doubt have been banned for life. It wouldn't matter if they were having a bad day at work, had personal issues or whatever, none of that would have mattered. As for booing, I find it equally baffling that anyone can get too upset about what is in effect a a very minor derogatory gesture which has gone on for centuries. Finally as regards online abuse can only say it's totally moronic but a sign of the times we live in and I cannot understand why players who are as well paid as they are bother with social media as surely they don't need it and it's always going to attract the idiots in society.

Gilks was brilliant when he came into the team and was a big reason for the upturn in form of Santos and Baptiste together with the move to a back 4. He's not brilliant now at low shots because of his age I suspect, but I would have him between the sticks next season. GK is such an important position - wasn't it the great Brian Clough who whenever he was building a team always started with the best keeper he could get.

Watched parts of that that interview couldn't do the full 15 mins and it was a typical Keith Hill interview. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting sacked after just getting into the playoffs so very strange. Something big must have gone on in the background or they have a name lined up.

So happy tonight having a few jars with a smile on my face. So pissed off last weekend I didn't come round properly till Monday but probably made today so much better.
