  1. RIP Garry. Part of the team in my early years of supporting. Part of our history that will not be forgotten.
  2. Got to agree. Keep saying to myself he is just out of form as he looked like he might have a chance when he first broke but this is now a mighty long lean spell. Chased shadows all game and lucky to avoid a booking.
  3. Really don't know what to make of that. Think I was stupidly expecting so much more of a reaction following the Bristol game. Didn't see many if any of our players who won their individual battles against their opponents and imposed their game on them even before we went down to 10. Whoever the new Manager is they are going to have to bring in between 6 to 12 new players with a winning mentality so we can expect another bumpy ride next season.
  4. It is good news. Funny thing is Mr Lennon hadn't been forced to play him he still wouldn't be near the first team. If he could have brought in another journeyman mercenary on loan he would have. Had a very good game against Burton iirc but we didn't see him after that. One of the few good things to come out of the disaster that is this season.
  5. Might be in for dogs abuse but I quite like Gary Neville. Should be nowhere near our Managers job though. Not the time to gamble on anyone.
  6. I'll be going but it will be a bit of a weird one. Feel for Jimmy. I was in the camp of not playing anyone who won't be here next season until the Bristol game. He needs to keep some confidence going if possible and Holding for example needs someone experienced next to him so it's got to be Wheater. One exception I would make is Mark Davies who has been given more than enough chances by the Club and fans. He needs to look at an example who is very close to him now in Peter Reid. Probably not the most gifted footballer in the world but made up for it with sheer determination. Came back from a couple of bad injuries and played for England - enough said. Saw Madine in pre season a couple of times and thought he would be just what we needed. How wrong I was. Maybe with a bit of confidence in a league lower next season can show that again.
  7. Always surprised me when I moved to Rochdale that along with the usual MUFC and MCFC 'fans' there was a fair few who followed Burnley. Spot on about Bacup
  8. One I have not heard for a bit is:- Bolton score, Bolton Score Once we get one we'll get more We'll sing in assembly when we get to Wembley So score, Bolton score Can't think why I haven't heard it! More appropriate would be:- Bolton Score, Bolton Score If we get one the opposition usually get more.......
  9. Living in Rochdale now got to be Dale for me. Remember the 4th Division game. 2-2 I believe but can't remember who scored.
  10. I guess the bit that may be considered ridiculous is to complain about the reporting when you've refused to provide any information yourself for years. Other than that rest seems fair enough.
  11. That's where I'm at.
  12. Couldn't say with any degree of certainty one player who will start the first game in season 2016/2017 - suppose that's a bit interesting!
  13. Yeah good. Don't want to see Mark Davies in a Bolton shirt again.
  14. Don't know much about Chris Wilder apart from what you can Google. Good win stats at Northampton. Anyone any first hand knowledge?
  15. People mentioning Keith Hill and Rochdale makes me worried for next season. Keith Hill has instilled a winning mentality in his players, has every player crossing the white line knowing exactly what is expected of them, will give youth a chance but only if they are good enough AND will play to his orders. I would have him in a heart beat but I really don't think he would come. There are other Rochdale's waiting for us next season with squads more or less in place whilst we are starting again. As other posters have said stability and half way up would be a good result.
  16. Got to admit that list is worrying IF true and to be honest the only real surprises are Liam Feeney, Liam Trotter and Ben Amos. Doesn't bode well for next season as anyone taking over would effectively be gambling that we could shift the majority of those whose contracts aren't expiring and we all know how difficult that has been. Makes it look like Admin is the only real option.
  17. RIP Phil Sad day for all connected with BWFC Condolences to his family.
  18. Got to agree with all the sentiments on here - top player - top bloke. If he hadn't got injured sure we'd still be in the PL now - he was that good. Good luck in whatever you do next Stu.
