  1. I know right, I'm sure some people on here are just stuck in this consistent managed decline thinking.
  2. Tbf that was 4 years ago alot of those players were fairly old then, plus it's the closed season, players like vela and Amos will find teams in L1 or the championship. Marc-Antoine Fortune is now playing for Chesterfield in the non league... Doesn't mean he was a non league player when he was in the Premier league. Players tend to get worse with age.
  3. There's a massive gap between L1 and the championship, apart from the top 4/5 they're fairly poor quality. For L1 we had a very good squad full of championship experience. Parkinson has to go because he's a poor manager. we need some with vision who can begin to build a team to not only get promotion but with the aim of doing more than just surviving in the championship.
  4. No we only have 100s of agents trying to get their players into teams ahead of the new season, and people online keeping track of every player in England out of contract right now. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/vertragslosespieler Footballs changed old man
  5. Definitely Parky and Parkin would be first out the door for me, seem like nice guys but totally not what we need right now.
  6. There's a massive gap between L1 and the Championship, you don't need anywhere the quality of player at this level. For example Wheater and Beavers were unbreakable at L1, they even scored a decent number of goals. In the Championship, the extra pace and skill made them look like a few guys playing footy after a booze up at the local. I guess what I'm saying is there's lots of players good enough to play at this level, lots of players who will see Bolton as a gateway into the championship or higher. It all depends on our ambition or the ambition of the new owners.
  7. If Bassini wants the fans on board he needs to show us three things: The money, the football contacts and info as to why we're being conned (his words). That'd be a start.
  8. It's the equivalent of four losses, teams get into the play offs with 20/25 losses and draws combined, i'm not saying it's going to be easy but people on here talk about it as if it's impossible... it isn't. People seem stuck in a losing mentality.
  9. I'd do a massive trial of players because we need numbers, say every released championship player that hasn't found a club by now and then try and pick the best ones. Maybe do a wider search to include the Spanish, German, Italian and French 2nd divisions. Get the academy lads back Darcy, Duke, Navarro and Brockbank. L1 isn't a high level especially below the top 5/6. The worst thing we could do is spend transfer money on players, because chances are they wouldn't be good enough to make the step up, when we get promoted. Guess it all depends on the ambition of the new ownership. I think we can aim for the playoffs, maybe higher, if they do the above.
  10. If anyone would like a full list of all the players senior and youth, not current contracted for next season. Have a look here: https://fmtransferupdate.com/clubs/614?transfers_page=1
  11. Them mixed with Navarro, Zouma, Wood and Duke. With a couple of quality buys, we could have a decent Squad for L1.
  12. Tbf to Luca he gave them until the original deadline in order to get the new ownership of the club sorted, at which point he wouldn't have been able to get out of his contract. I can understand him not wanting to wait forever, but it is disappointing. Especially when so much time and effort has been put into his development. The vultures are truly picking off all our talent atm, players which would have been ideal in L1 and could have made a name for themselves.
  13. I'm loving the American honey mustard goes well with everything.
  14. Yeh I get that, tbf with jake I think he's had a big injury. Looks like we're losing duke, navarro, Darcy, Connell atm all to teams in the championship or Premier league. All of which will probably be loaned back to the teams we'll be competing against in L1. What a shit show.
  15. Trial every play out of contract that's been promoted out of L1 and or played more than 2 seasons in the championship in the last 5 years. Out of them we just sign the best ones. How else would you build a team to compete in L1, when you need to do it fast??? Regards to the - 12 points sure I agree it won't be easy but it's not impossible. Look at the L1 table this year and look how many draws and losses the teams have at the top, there's plenty of wiggle room.
  16. He went to Burnley... Whole different kettle of fish.
  17. Thing is if Darcy really does go to Chelsea, you've then got to ask yourself, why the fuck wasn't he anywhere near our team this year. Most Championship teams pay a fortune in loans for players from Chelsea u23 etc.
  18. Doubt it'll be that much atm, but all things aside I don't believe that admin will take that long (hope). The money aspect is fairly straightforward from my understanding.
  19. I'd accept staying up but I really want us to atleast try and get into the promotion places. I seriously don't think thats impossible.
  20. Most teams don't have an almost blank slate and it was under the preface that we had a new owner.
  21. ... I'm already aware of that. You really are a negative fuck.
  22. Signing 20 players isn't a problem, all we'd need to do is trial every play out of contract that's been promoted out of L1 and or played more than 2 seasons in the championship in the last 5 years. Out of them we just sign the best ones. The quality of L1 isn't that high, that's why people have predicted we'll do well. 12 points is nothing, 4 wins and it's gone, I know it seems a stretch as we've been shit for so long now but it's not that hard.
  23. "You say we "aspire...." but we have no idea what we can realistically aspire to right now. New ownership (depending on who it is) may aspire to run us sustainably in league one for all you know." Sick of this defeatist shit, if you're happy visiting Accrington with about 5 guys and a donkey, so be it, I think we can do better than that.
  24. You might as well just give up now then, pack it in. We'll just fade away into obscurity, be playing on a football pitch some where near red lane.
  25. You wouldn't buy wanderers if you wanted to do that, it would be very difficult and expensive.
