  1. weird one, happy for him though, decent move
  2. Yeah was a tough question to deal with, surprised they asked it. Clearly Evatt doesn’t think DJ is good enough but for media he has to come out with a positive spin “there’s always a way back into the team” etc To be fair DJ was frozen out once and came back in ( didn’t really do much) but I’d be surprised if he played again after being frozen out twice… Doubt any other clubs will offer him a similar wage so he probably is just sitting on his contract until he is a free agent
  3. Loan, no option to buy it seems
  4. They may not have been “ours” but they were our best two players last season so comparisons will always be made. As I say Baxter is plenty good enough for what we need, as is Cogley imo
  5. Ex spurs academy, only played in the B Team for Brentford and two spells at Wimbledon then MK Dons (👀) Seems Brentford got him for free so pure profit for them if we do buy him. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s another “loan with option to buy” though, which is a good avenue for us at this stage, if we feel the need to upgrade next season, gives us flexibility
  6. 1.78m medium size bastard
  7. Ballon d’or clause in contract
  8. Paris Maghoma seems to be the name
  9. unless they’ve got an old French player of ours on the podcast, or have been misled, seems they are insinuating we should be expecting a signing, ITK FACT
  10. signing rumour no idea who appears to be a French player or from a French club… Could be total bollox
  11. 3-1 Sheehan, Cogley, Victor 18,305
  12. Baxter is not as good at shotstopping/handling as Trafford imo from the two games I’ve watched. Seen him palm a few shots that Traff would have caught. But he is plenty good enough to be a promotion winning L1 goalie, which is all that matters. Trafford could be a bit rash with rushing out, such as Accrington away. Not been able to judge Baxter in that yet. In terms of passing out from the back, that is always going to make any goalie look dodgy at times, Traff had a few nervy moments. Baxter will this season. He has already given away a free goal from it in pre season and no doubt it will get us into trouble again but I won’t be part of the typical (but thankfully a minority) “stop fuckin around with it/gerrit forward” brigade. There is clearly a time where it’s better to be safe than sorry but it works well the majority of the time.
  13. https://www.bwfc.co.uk/video/player/0_9s7ucyzj?feed=a1f4ffaf-8a61-491f-828f-c078f42c8403&section=d558be1f-7c1c-48fa-a9f5-954c2583340c why do the highlights only show our goals? Hope that's not the case going forward.
  14. I think we will see 2 different variants of our 3-5-2 formation this season. One with Thomason holding (or a new signing) and Dempsey + Sheehan ahead with more licence to get forward so more of a 3-1-4-2. . Baxter . Jones Santos Iredale . Thomason Cogley Sheehan Dempsey. Williams . Charles Nlundulu And then a 3-4-1-2 with Gomes in the #10 or Dempsey, and either Thomason and Morley sitting deeper or Sheehan and Morley. . Baxter . Jones Santos Iredale Cogley Sheehan Morley. Williams. . Gomes . Charles Nlundulu Possibly the latter in games we expect to be the dominant side; and the former in games we need an extra body in front of the defence as cover. i.e. vs Pompey, Blackpool etc.
  15. another one we “shouldn’t have let go” Meanwhile Denis politic at dinamo bucharest https://www.instagram.com/p/CvHusRIqpiq/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== tearing it up 🔥🔥🔥(They lost their first two matches in the super liga)
  16. As does every other nation state, or at least increased influence on global politics. Part of the way they can get more control/influence is if they become more “acceptable” via sportswashing and integrating/interfering with Western nations.
  17. Only when I take off my tinfoil hat
  18. Yeah I’m sure the oil reserves are still plentiful but western demand for oil will likely reduce over the next 100 years as fossil fuels begin to be phased out and renewable energy brought to the fore
  19. football is a lucrative business and a highly visible one. Just my two cents conspiracy theory but seems to me that the Saudis are cleverly trying to westernise and future proof their economy as they will have to become less reliant on oil money in time. Case study: City had to spunk tons of money to catch up to the other big 4 and whilst they are still spunking now, they’re also established as a European elite, so they don’t have to spunk quite as much, since players want to be there for the prestige, rather than (or in addition to) the money now. You can see how that might work on a league scale rather than club scale for the Saudi league. For the Saudi nation I imagine they will be thinking a top level sport product will help bring reputability to their country, bring new investors and opportunities. Football won’t be their only target, they’ve already done similar with golf and probably are looking into other markets other than sport too. Gotta spend money to make money
  20. Tom Eaves was a funny one. Signed him based off a pre season hattrick never gave him an opportunity, then by the time the club had fallen to a level he could actually play for us in, we let him go
  21. I’m assuming their thinking is that if they invest enough in bringing superstars (even old ones) to their league it will raise the standard of the league over time. Then when the league has reached a certain level they may be able to offer more sustainable wages and look to compete with European leagues on a more balanced level. Then they can focus on developing their own national players
  22. I can see them adding 10 mins on at the end of the game which I support given how commonplace timewasting has become but teams will just feign injuries within the added time and hope it’s not added on as “added-added time” on the same page it also says players will have to get treatment off the pitch now , unless they have a serious injury (how are they going to determine that I don’t know), or they’re a goalkeeper
  23. Better get used to those 10 minute added time games like we saw in the world cup
