  1. No he's not. They are OK, but nowt on a potato cake. This is a country that has square sausages in cheap meat fo fucks sake.
  2. Yeah, because you get burnt anywhere 🙄 Mind you, all my childhood I spent my holidays in France, Italy or Germany. Full 6 weeks. Left on the first day of the holidays, came back two days before. Didn't realise quite how lucky I was at the time.
  3. There is no way Hares and Hounds round Deane is decent. Jump round the back of a chippy? Now Smithills, it's class.
  4. Well, like a lot of folks I'm having a wonderful time spending a decent amount of time with family after a grim 18 months. Also loving being back in Bolton after 2 years. I know the two weeks of sun are sacrosanct for some, its never been that for us, a decent weekend break, a few camping sites down south. Happy days.

I'm currently sat in the biggest twat filled South London pub. Everyone is a posh metro liberal dick. Please let us win.
  7. You are quite right. Not fit to lick their bloodied boots. Punk was suppose to kill bands like queen, yet they clung on like bindweed. The flame kept alive by middle managers in astras and cheap suits. Same goes for Bryan Adams.
  8. Nope, awful guitar sound, can't stand the songs, or Freddie Mercury's voice. Just horrible.
  9. Finally got one, Hammer to fall by Queen. Awful band. Not quite on the Red Hot Chilli Peppers level, but very close on the turd scale.

Well, my Mrs is off furlough next month and back to work full time - although she's only being paid for 3 days she's been working 5/6 a week for a couple of months- everything is opening up, 3 press nights this week. My contract with work got extended until Jan - apparently they want me around which is a nice stop gap but I need to get back to pre covid wage as the redundancy funds are gone now. Jobs are out there but not to the same level, few things coming up with the company I set up and the folks who are there but I need a bit more security of income and the two other directors don't really (I mean I'm.renting in Bromley, one has a flat in West Ken, a home in the cotswolds and a French villa -and he said to me we all.have outgoings the pranny) So fun times ahead. I need the commercial cash but have really enjoyed working in the museum sector this year. Oh well, was nice while it lasted....
  11. Enjoy all, Fat White Family and Baxter Drury for me on sat. Going the CC game next Tuesday and Oxford at home though. First time back in Bolton for a couple of years.
  12. Not music but I can't get to the podcasts thread but next Monday The Lost Kingdom's of England starts on Radio 4 about how Albion became to be from all the forgotten regions. Sounds really interesting, worth a listen I'd have thought.
  13. Great story. I got into him about when I was about 12, my mum had The Times They Are A-Changing on a cassette in the car. Thought he was an 80 year old bloke, but loved it. Got the old double Best of (blue cover, Dylan in silhouette on the cover) that Christmas played it over and over. Not a fan of the super obessesives, read a couple of fan books, the one by Suzie Rotolo (lady on the cover of Freewheelin') got the books goings through the catalogues but get bought a lot of them from family and they take away from the music. Although I have read Chronicles one a couple of times - wonder if the old buzzard will write another.
  14. Yeah, my Mrs is from.the North East and she fucking hates them. "If I have to hear another song about blokes dying at sea I'm.going to pull my ears off." Loves a bit of Jimmy Nail though. As I'm working from home, I decided to listen to every Dylan album as I work in chronological order - currently on Planet Waves...it's the born again era next followed by the 80s. Got a lot of dirge to struggle through after album after album of near perfect genius. Still, got to hold on until World Gone Wrong (with Oh Mercy as a liferaft in the middle) Then onto the bootleg series....
  15. I've put 20 quid on us getting promoted. Not bad odds actually.
