You're watching the match and something controversial happens where a player gets potentially badly injured? Is it "soft" to not show a replay of the incident? What about if it turns out the player is in the dressing room and seems OK? Is it OK to show it then? And if you agree that it slushy be shown, where do you think the cut off point lies? A player gets a head injury and goes off on a stretcher? A player gets a broken leg from a late tackle? A player twists his ankle? As a fan who is invested in watching the match and wanting to have an opinion on the relevant parts of the match, isn't it fair to show the incident, such as the Trafford incident, so that we can discuss if it should be a red card or no card etc? I can imagine the Accy fans wanting to see that again so that they can feel justified in calling for a red. Are all incidents there to be seen? Or are some things just too bad to show? Are we better off letting the broadcaster decide? Or are we in danger of losing the power to decide things for ourselves?

I'll chuck a few thoughts out without checking them against the facts and not in any particular order. Some of my thoughts might be minor or major contributors, and some may have started the run, while others have helped maintain it. Enforced changes. Losing Iredale, Thomasson, Jones, Dapo and Kachunga all helped us in one way or another when they happened. The return of John, the reintroduction of Jones, the new signings, the finding of form for Morley, Charles and Dempsey. Toal coming in. A more settled starting eleven. A bit of luck at both ends. The consistency of Trafford. Good crowds home and away. Evatt getting things more right than wrong*. *even though I think he might have carried on picking Kachunga, Iredale and Thomasson ahead of others if his hand wasn't forced.

Funny isn't it how score lines can influence what we think of a performance. I thought we were under par against Peterborough and yet we walloped them 5-0. God help them if we had been in form! However, Trafford had to make more saves than usual, we got better treatment from the ref than ever (two pens) and we actually played less well than we have played in other matches that we have subsequently drawn or lost... Our subs didn't really have an impact IMHO. But in the end, it gave 5 lads a bit of a rest. Who would have ever thought, Charles hatrick and Santos brace?

Can you explain why "I know a couple" arguments are bollocks? I would argue that anyone on 30k who lives at their parents house can choose to get a mortgage or can choose to spend their money having a nice lifestyle.
-
On the other hand we have those who live at home, pay a token amount to their parents and have no other commitments unless they chose them. They expect to be able to have the latest phone, multiple holidays, expensive days and nights out, new clothes, a pay as you go Mercedes. They want all this and so they choose it over saving up. A couple I know, very well, earn 25k per year between them. They bought their own house for 110k last year. 10% deposit. 35 year mortgage. And they couldn't be happier. However, nothing was given to them. They saved up for two years to get the deposit together. But they had a second hand car between them. Didn't upgrade their basic phones. Didn't have sky TV or gym memberships or any holidays. They lived on about 15k per year. Oh and by the way they were also renting, so had a lot more to pay out than someone living at home... It can be done. It's hard. But it's also possible. And a choice.
-
There is a discrepancy here. On the one hand you have people who have moved out and are renting, so they are paying more than the cost of a mortgage and already have to pay all their own bills, council tax, broadband and so on. For these people to be able to save up a deposit is very hard and would take many years even on a decent income. And by the time you have saved it up you are 35 and dying want to be buying a run down stater home, the kind of thing which would have been OK when you were 19 and first moving out of your parents...

Ah. Touché... Although, I'm not disagreeing with the overall point. But I am genuinely interested to know if its as simple as saying that it's unaffordable or if there is an element of choosing to spend elsewhere? Feel free to adjust the above to account for tax.

I know that you see my point.

Its the over all trend that is an issue. Rationality is being removed from decision making. I can see the place where this line of thinking ends, at which point it will affect all of us.
-
She must be on 25/30k? Living at home could surely live on 6k for the year? That's probably 20k in the bank in 12 months. More than enough for a deposit. So what's going wrong?

People being offended is taking over the world. It's like if someone says they are offended all reasonable discussion is halted and the offendee pandered to, as though the worst thing in the world is that someone might be offended.

We have selection problems again now... Tradford Jones Toal Santos Mbete (Johnston) Bradley Isgrove John Williams (Iredale) MJ Dempsey Sheehan Thomasson Morley Lee Shoretire Charles (Bodvarsson) Jerome Adeboyejo Nlundulu How do you possibly pick a team and keep them all happy?

Pleased to hear it. Don't always have time to check back through the other posts.

Would it be OK if we had a similar song at the Accy match? Or make reference to it? Does he take it? Does he take it? Does he take it up the Accy?
-
When he did it, the way he walked, the way he held his back, reminded me of when I did mine. If its anything like mine we won't see him again.

It's utterly bonkers : A. That we complained officially or at all... B. That they actually got a fine. What about when we call the referee a wanker? We don't know that he wanks. Or when we call a goalie a shit bastard. He might be a good goalie. And might not be a bastard. Are we going to get fined? PATHETIC For all we know, Charles enjoys it up the whatsit. In which case, how is it discrimination? Who against?

Been there. Done that. Had the epidurals. Never ever listen to a doctor that says it will go away on its own in time. I now see a physio every week pretty much and it helps more than anything. It has to be hands on though so that you can get any other related muscle spasms to calm down. How many of you are based in Bolton? Someone could start sciatica anonymous.

This has bugged me.. One game we had three cleared off the line and it showed as zero shots on target. If we are looking at stats then they should at least reflect the match properly.
-
Another match where Charles should have got three really.

Who thinks that? I wear what I want...

Does anyone know if Sam Hoskins rumours died?

The problem with this statement is that if he was too good to be our bench warmer we must be replacing him with someone not as good (as in someone who is not too good to be a bench warmer). And that's not progress for us. Alternatively, we replace him with someone better than Santos. But that would mean Santos would then be the bench warmer. And by default we return to the position of having someone on the bench (as in Santos - an even better player than Aimson) who is even more "too good to be our bench warmer". I think. It's late.
