150k waiting for processing.

Let's assume (and no I can't provide any evidence here and neither can you) that a third of them do not qualify.

That's 100k.

Even "your team" admit there are at least 30k empty council dwellings (that is, homes that have been empty for 6 months or more with no tenants due in): https://conservativehome.com/2022/10/21/there-are-over-30600-empty-council-homes-in-england-they-must-be-put-up-for-sale/

However, estimates actually range from 100k to 300k depending on where you look, so it's safe to say there are houses available.

House, the 100k.

Ask them : "Are you happy to be given a house and a safe life away from your previous country?"

If the answer is yes, then they need to get jobs, pay their way or at least do the same things as UK nationals do when they get given a council house.

Chances are, the majority of them will repay the UK's kindness by being good citizens. Some of them will be wankers. But that applies to all UK residents.

They are likely to do the shitty low paid jobs, some might be smart and get good jobs.

Either way, there is a place for them if they qualify.

If they don't, plane them back to whence they came.

The money is there. It was there for shit PPE, so it can be sorted.

Big spend to start. Short term pain for long term gain. A true conservative ideal.

But, I'm sure you have a million better ways to solve this. 🙂

Well we already have 271k living in temp accom, add to that the 150k back log and estimated 50k coming via the channel alone.

I think you may need to look at your figures again.

I'm all out

You'd better tell everyone how we sort it.

Over to you Cap'n

See when you think about it a little it’s not as simple as processing them faster is it. It sounds good but in reality…..we’ll it’s not

So

You have no answers

A bit like "your team" who have simply sat back and let this happen.

I have at least a solution to "half" the issue. It's a start. But you - nothing. Very disappointing from a brainy chap.

It's almost like you don't want this sorting.

Whose side are you on?

Nobody said that these things are simple. That processing them is a magic bullet. But it’s funny that you’ve asked 100 questions this morning already & this is the conclusion you’ve come to.

It’s patently obvious that this backlog is an issue and a proper investment in clearing it will help. It’s a priority. They aren’t even doing the basics now, like processing cases that should take a few weeks from places like Afghanistan and Syria.

We can’t not process them because we might not know where to house every last one of them. There are charities, housing associations, dispersal methods etc. all of which can help house them. It’s not an impossible task if the government work together with these organisations and make a go of it.

Genuine question for you now,

Do you think they (the Tories) have been making a decent job of it all?

It’s clearly obvious they’ve been doing a shit job. Why would you even need to ask that question.

As for the 100 questions (you’re a fkin drama queen aren’t you) there’s simply not enough houses. As I have already pointed out. 270k alone already homeless/in temp accom and that’s not including the back log and all the others who want to/plan on coming. It’s all well and good saying process them faster but it’s quite clear to see there’s nowhere for all of them to go.

Where would you put them then?

And, you see why voting for this shower again is the definition of insanity now?

You’re not grasping what I’m saying are you? Where can they go?

Thanks pal. I was just a bit unsure if you thought it was obvious. Especially when you say things like 'In Boris & Rishi we trust" and then go all Sherlock Holmes on anyone who states the obvious thing that needs doing.

Not totally sure about all your figures. For a start you're kind of suggesting the 140k will all need housing. When a chunk of them will also be deported. Anyway. It's still a big number to house and you're right, it isn't simple.

But I disagree that there is nowhere for them all to go. I worked two years in a refugee centre and did a research project on the right to work. Things have changed since then, so it doesn't mean I have all the answers. But it was still at a time when numbers arriving were high. The key thing that happens when a claim is processed is that they have the right to work. So within a month or two I saw loads just head off and rent a room somewhere. The vast majority don't need their own house. They would stay with a pal whilst they were skint, or a local host from the centre. These things were often sorted whilst they were waiting on their claim so things were ready to go. Many didn't want the stigma of help from the state and would sort it themselves.

There are a lot of myths out there. The majority don't want to damage their claim decision by working, so they play by the rules until it's decided. Then when it is decided they want to become a tax paying contributor as soon as possible.

It really always does come back to clearing the backlog. It's Tory incompetence at it's finest.

Sorry that was a long one. I'll leave you to it now x

I've just found over 100,000 houses that are empty.

Process them, get rid of the rapists and put the rest in empty houses.

See it as a way of starting to change this fucking horrendous nappy the tories have filled and are now squidging up their backs and all over the carpet.

Or, see it as a positive bit of action, rather than just sitting around whining and waving your hands in the air.

You sound like a fucking remoaner.

I agree with a large chunk of that but let’s look at other problems this may cause. A few of us on here have said in the last that they, the immigrants need to be spread more around the country, the likes of Bolton/Rochdale/Oldham/ etc can’t carry on at the rate they are. Now I’m guessing this is where their pals are going to be living in the majority of cases. So it’s likely the jobs they get are going to be around those places. When are we going to see other areas taking them in?

Crazy though how people have different views. You mentioned paying for a room at a mates or a host (fully agree)  which aren’t the cheapest, yet when they’re put in a a similar sized room with all the facilities you need and get paid to be there it’s inhumane and being imprisoned.

Do they fuckery, they need to stay up there, we don't want them invading our idyllic villages down here in the shires. We've only just accepted the nice asian family that bought the post office the other year, we don't want any more foreigners here, especially brown ones.

Please restrict this to lady firebobbies will you?
