I have never been failed by a Wetherspoons. I'd like to put that on record.

Its the only pub I've had to send food back for being cold as they shove them under those lights till someone decides to bring it to you

The pizzas are good but apparently they are the only food that is cooked fresh

Anything that you have to grill or fry is done fresh. So most of the breakfast stuff, pizzas, burgers, paninis and the fried chicken/spice bag stuff

My brother was very complimentary about the one in York

We always stay at the Premier Inn on Bloom Street when we visit the daughter in York as it's the nearest one to where she is. Wetherspoons across the road (The Punch Bowl) does a far superior breakfast to the hotel, and it's cheaper. Also can't be doing with buffet-style English breakfasts like they have in Premier Inn - watching people cough into their hand or scratch their arse before they pick up the tongs 🤢, so the Wetherspoons is a no-brainer. Shame they don't have any rooms there.

After 4 nights in the utter shithole that is Georgian House, I'll never look down on the idea of staying in a Spoons hotel ever again.

Christ it's been poor for donkeys years, used to be a nice place about 30 years ago.

I always just assumed it was decent, having a gym swayed it for me. My word though, bar the staff who were really nice, it didn't have a single redeeming feature.

Spa is long gone as well.

I actually assumed it had become a migrant hotel some time ago. Who knew that the residents of Nottingham were eligible?

We were in the Angel Hotel, Spoons Whitby at weekend. Nice and clean, busy and a good selection of local drinks on the bar.  According to the website the rooms are decent too.

I stayed there one night last November.

Never again.

No it was apparently spared that fate. Probably better digs in Afghanistan tbh.

Everything was broken, I don't understand how they can get away with it 😂

The thing that boils my piss about Spoons is when student types order and pay at the table. Each one separately.

Oh and when they bring all their electric stuff in to charge . Phones laptops tablets the lot.

I love a cheeky work from Spoons day. I have my favourite table in an alcove, hidden away next to the disabled loo. I can position myself so nobody can see my screen; charge my laptop and phone, order food and drinks to my table and can nip to loo when busting, safe in the knowledge I'll be back before any realises I'm away... Monday's when the Guinness is about £2.70 a pint

A chap was charging all of the above on the table I was sitting at. He didn’t want me sitting there and was puffing and blowing for ages.

When he fucked off for his third coffee I took a photo of my knob on his phone and sent it to all of his contacts.
If it was you I apologise.
