Well well well

Don't think we deserved to win. Possibly did enough for a draw. City must feel gutted. They'll play much, much worse this season and win games. Saying that we still had a handful of chances ourselves - the Davies header and Nakata shot being prime examples.

Hitting the bar and post - whilst being close - is still a miss. And a miss does not get the reward of a goal.

Our penalty - was clear cut - why did Dunne do that? Pedersen may have got to the ball first, but it would have been bouncing and by the time he had controlled it, I think James would have been on him and the chance would have gone.

The local pub I was in went mental when Speed tucked in the penalty (did anyone else get the impression it was Speed's only touch of the second half?).

Lever Bridge - new on the scence this season. Would have gone to the TWLC if not.

TWLC were jam packed

probably was his only touch...but what a touch !!

Possibly did enough for a draw.

even with my white tinted spectacles on I can't agree with that

Jussi was our only plus point today

we were very lucky indeed

makes up for that 6-2 and no mistake

Possibly did enough for a draw.

I don't think so.

We didn't deserve to get a draw today [-X

Bollocks to however three points are gained, just cast your mind back to the Everton game, we were also mugged.

Beer swiller

I agree about the Everton match, we were better than that shower of shit

at the end of the day, they didn't capitalise on their chances.

we got a deserved penalty, and scored from it.

3 points, simple as that.

Now i know what the Everton fans felt like when they beat us 1 - 0 in 2 words lucky bastards :D

jussi was man of the match today. thought speedy was consistant tonight, [great penalty]

serves city right for not taking their chances, isn't that what we get told?

You get nowt for hitting the woodwork.

Ask JJ.

And maybe the Plovdiv fans feel like we did after the Everton match eusa_whistle.gif

would like to have asked jj but he was nowhere to be seen

... or Nicky Hunt!

I was referring to that game at Spurs, where he waged a one man battle with the woodwork.

is that a bad thing?

pity it wasn't more

i have to agree today that i thought our defence were caught out to often for me!

I enjoyed that match very much. I bought my match ticket outside the ground and ended up stood up all the match behind the goals in the middle of the 'Yid Army'. I had a good laugh with them, they knew I was Bolton and got me a beer at half-time, but everytime JJ hit the woodwork or did something special I kept saying "JJ's on fire today" and after a while they were saying to me "will you shat the fack up about JJ" :D

He was man of the match by a mile that day.

When Nolan slotted in the winner they weren't in such a joking mood :D

Taking in to consideration the UEFA Cup factor I thought today???s performance was as good as we could have expected. Yes, we rode our luck but we were always dangerous and City had to work hard to get in to the positions to hit the woodwork and to test Jaaskelainen.

as stated - hitting the woodwork is deemed as a miss. so City had a lot of misses today. they were hitting speculative shots. sibierski won a few headers (from distance). the best chance of the entire match and most clear cut fell to Davies for us - and he really should have scored.

we played a great game of soaking up the pressure and tiring City out before countering them and coming strong as the game got into its last half hour.

I think the draw was the least we deserved for a battling effort.

The lack of full backs at the club showed today, as I though all three got roasted all match (Peds, Rickkkkyyy and Haim). Haim looked ok going forward though, but made Santa Claus look half decent.

I have never seen Jaidi or Bruno loose so many headers in the last two matches against smaller players - Has someone put led in their boots.

Nakata showed some nice skills at times, but ran down a few blind alleys, not sure if this was just down to lack of support though.

Pedersen gave us more when he moved forward in the 2nd half though, and had a half decent game from there.

A good team gets a result when playing badly. We played 10 times better against Everton and ended up with nothing, plus its rare a team does anything after Europe, so be a little hard to judge them on this performance.

What happened to Faye , from what I saw on the TV he seemed to have a good first half and then he was taken off ??

I thought Faye played OK too. He has been injured recently though so it could be a reoccurance of that.

However playing both Faye and Speed at the same time was a bit defensive as they both ended up playing just in front of the back four. Maybe Sam decided to be a bit more positive?? by bringing Campo on.
