November 17, 200520 yr everything i want to take wont fit in my hand luggage. Will everyone hate me if I take a case? 8-[ (all those changes of outfit and fur cleaning stuff) YES 1 HOUR 30 MINUTES SAT WAITING ON A A COACH WITH THOSE WAITING FOR LUGGAGE
November 18, 200520 yr What would you need to take? Undies for each day if you're a girl, the pair you have on if you're a lad. One shirt if you can be assured you won't mess the travelling shirt with beer/vomit. Pair of jeans plus the pair you travel in. Trainers/shoes & socks you are travelling in. Loads of aftershave/smelly stuff if you take this 'travelling light' advice.

Will everyone hate me if I take a case? 8-[ (all those changes of outfit and fur cleaning stuff) Take a case and you will be the most hated woman in Portugal - all the lads pack light cos they don't want to wait for an hour for luggage to be taken off the plane - wasted beer time. Don't do it!!!

November 18, 200520 yr ali, you only need handluggage. wear undies, jeans, jop, jumper, coat. mobile/charger/camera/purse in coat pockets. you and zoe sort what youre taking. whats the point in 2 tubes of toothpaste, 2 showergels/soapsetc?? borrow eachothers. you only need a change of clothes/undies, and your toothbrush then, that will leave room for the flag. missus c packs like a man. hung like one too..... :-$
November 18, 200520 yr as Oscar Wilde said "never underestimate an Englishman's ability to soil himself whilst abroad"
November 18, 200520 yr zoe and ali will not soil themselves. but just in case, take a lightweight compact pack of disposable paper knickers.
November 18, 200520 yr take a lightweight compact pack of edible knickers. I was one of those stuck at Manchester Airport waiting for about an hour my luggage coming back from Plovdiv on Happys flight. A good idea to really keep your luggage down, is to go with a friend who is of the same size and build as you - then you can both swap clothes, everybody will think that you have got fresh clothes on and you're hygenic :-$ .....................this isn't a good idea if your friend has a habit of poo-ing himself though 8-[

November 18, 200520 yr Author right, I'd better start practising oragami if I'm going to fit everything into hand luggage. is 5 kg the maximum you're allowed to take on?
November 18, 200520 yr right, I'd better start practising oragami if I'm going to fit everything into hand luggage. is 5 kg the maximum you're allowed to take on? Ali, nip into a posh department store tomorrow (you'll have to leave Wiggin of course), chat up the women on the cosmetics counters and get a load of free samples. You may have to make up a few embarrassing allergies but you should be able to get a decent range of stuff - and most importantly, they all come in tiny containers. And just remember, whilst moisturiser is essential - pre-cleanser, body scrub, rehydrater, body lotion, foot lotion, anti-cellulite cream etc. aren't. And don't take your metal nailfile, swiss army knife and a variety of terminal screwdrivers or you may have to post them back home to yourself from the airport 8-[

November 19, 200520 yr Ali you will be busy with Zoe in Portugal so will your Dad be going for a few beers in Portugal with the posters off here.
November 19, 200520 yr Half the time they don't weigh your hand luggage I'd say 100% of the time I've travelled, they do (maybe I look like I own heavy stuff?). I become adept at wearing all the heaviest clothes then changing once the other side of passport control, because they don't weigh the person. Little tip, wear your steel toecap/midsole shoes otherwise that'll be all your allowance gone. But you will get stopped going through the scanner.
