Montpellier is meant to be a great place - but heading away from Marseilles.

The Camargue region is the only place in Europe that you will see pink flamingoes in a natural habitat!

Now I just need ;pp lessons as something tells me Marseilles not going to be too friendly

Marseille is probably the one of dodgiest places Ive been watching football, possibly with the exception of Slovakia - went to marseille france 98, the first row was at 8.30am and it was still going on when we got the train out of there at 11.00pm.

 

Although club european games are always different to England coming to town it definately wont be a trip for the faint hearted, and I'm sure the locals will be looking forward to it. Man united and chelsea had a rough time of it over there.

 

Stayed at a place called St Raphael which was ok, and is on the the way to marseille from Nice.

If you go by the Ibis website there is the Ibis Prado (very close to the stadium and port) for 50 euros for a twin. Not sure if there's still availability.
