Arctic Monkeys

Yay or nay?

I think they're f*cking fantastic, makes a change hearing summat like that when you've had to endure 4 minutes of that X-Factor muppet.

PB

I bet you look good on the dancefloor

They are quality

=D>

Very much yey!

Cracking single and a couple of decent follow ups on their EP.

Plus they're the first band I've ever heard use the words 'wagging it' in a song.

Am gonna wait till I hear their first album till I go too overboard though.

Have you heard The Arcade Fire? Bloody brilliant, can't recommend it highly enough, total class!

fooking fantastic album. so was the first one, even with the interesting lyrics.

nay

Yay

yay

Is it just me or do the arctic monkeys sound like a crap sixth form version of the Fall, with a singer who is a brazen parody of Graham Coxon, once of Blur?

This years Strokes / Kings of Leon. Mark my words, you'll be seeing their album in the bargain bucket at woolies in no time.

Emporers new clothes!!

Think it's just you.

Never heard any Pixies stuff in there myself and I've listened to them once or twice. White Stripes seem a bit shit on record but extraordinarily good live. No one sounds like The Fall!

Arctic monkeys - yay anyway.

quite like them too.

yay.

Yay, they're awesome.

Quite funny though how they were formed by radio 1 then plugged to f??ck by Jo Whiley and then straight in at number one :-k

Are you on drugs?

Not heard enough to judge really

But the 'unsigned, out of nowhere' story doesn't ring true to me, they appear to have as slick a marketing machine as any band making their debut, for example the website they have is A1...

Gigged their bollocks off, played every 2 bit shit hole of a venue last year. Saw them at Leeds Fest in summer, mid-afternoon, packed out, about 500 people knew every word to every song in a way I've not witnessed since Oasis.

This is the way it used to be done. Yet they are getting slagged for being a slick, manufactured band??? ](*,) Get a ragging clue, then get a ragging grip.

Likewise,

i'll download some songs off limewire, and post my feedback

Arctic bloody monkey's - have you seen their bassist, looks like Smiley after one of his legendary McDonald's blow-outs!

...and let's face it, they can hardly hold a candle to Anthony and the Johnsons!!!

Touchy!

Didn't say they were manufactured, I meant more that the press portrayed their number one out to be 'a bolt from the blue' as though they'd never played outside their local. As you've said, that is patently not the case.
