UEFA "Holiday"

It amazes me how so many people do not take advantage of our first european season and make them into a 3/4/5 day trip. So many people seem to want to go in and out on the same day etc..

There are so many nice places to see and so many people to meet. I know money is an issue for people and people get hassle from their partners but if you are on the ball then independant trips are often cheaper. I've got direct flights to Marseille for example for ??40.00 return.

I stayed in bulgaria for 7 days and portugal for 5. They were the best "holidays" i've ever had. I'm going to Marseille for 5 days too. Although more of a "football" trip then i expect this to be just as good.

Travel expands your mind. Set yourself free, create your own trip and have a week on the piss.

:D :D

Direct flights to Marseille from where and with which company?

Liverpool or Luton to Nimes. Still cheap if you're going Sunday to Sunday.

It doesn't amaze me, a 2/3 day trip costs me weds/thurs/fri off work, 3 away trips cost me 9 days off work last year from my entitlement of 25.

The only was to make a week of it is to miss other games, and Istanbul is the only place were you could spend a week seeing things of interest.

I'd rather lose a bollock than spend any more time in Bulgaria, people were paying to get out of the ragging slum.

Thurs game. Fly out wed am. Fly back sunday before game. 3 days off work.

I met loads in portugal who had flown out for the game only and had 2 days off work (thurs/fri). I had three days off flew out wed flew back sunday into stansted straight to fulham. This is more possible of course with thursday games.

I would rather spend time anywhere be it portugal/bulgaria/france than rush back to everyday life. Thats the point i'm making and the point is so would most people if time and money constraints allowed.

i drove to gatwick and back for the bulgaria trip

ok, i could've flown down, for another 60-100 quid, bui didn't

i'd never done it before and wouldn't do it again

i've been shattered after euro trips, dunno about it being a holiday

to be honest, i'm very happy the marseille trip sees us settled mid afternoon wednesday, rather than midnight

Fortunately i'm travelling down on monday flying out tuesday good flight times too. I know its a fair way but would i do a lot of driving with my job so used to it and its a direct flight for peanuts once i'm there.

Hey who hasnt come back from a "holiday" needing another one. Sign of a good time isnt it?

I don't know any sane people who would want to spend any time in Bulgaria ever again, especially in an empty, gypsy infested holiday resort.

Each to their own though, people know the options. Loads of people think Benidorm is too foreign for them, it's their loss.

Was an article on the news this morning talking up Sunny Beach as a great holiday destination.

There is fcuk all there for starters, just a load of hotels.

The bars are cheap but have one to many and you'll end up getting dipped by a gypo.

Great!

newspaper articles on holiday resorts are paid for by advertising. FACT.

bulgaria is a total shit hole. FACT.

the fengys are going back there. FACT.

8 of us had a cracking week in Bulgaria.

25c + every day and a football match thrown in. Better than spending a week in Bolton.

However, some people chose to come for a day or so. Save their holidays for other games meaning the can attend every game.

If we get through, i wont be going to the next euro away.

Everyone ends up doing diferent things. Dont think theres a "right way" or a "wrong way"

how many days do you get a year

He's right you know, not everybody can afford the time off work, or indeed the financial implications that spending a week or so away would entail.

I know there are plenty of nice places to see, but some of us travel all around Europe for a living, and as such the excitement isn't there, hence I generally like to only spend 1 or 2 days in each place.

I'm fortunate that i can take time off when i like really and i do appreciate that not everybody can.

I saw the thing about Bulgaria this morning.

It was on GMTV. They showed Sunny Beach and some nightlife including The Corner Bar.

Correct. Some people have families some dont, some people have lots of disposable income some dont, some people have 25/30 days holiday entitlement some dont, etc etc.
