yobo played for everton yesterday

As Sam said on Sky, none of the players are even in training at the mo ](*,)

surely it should be the same rules for everyone

mido played for spurs at weekend, yet that was the second game that most of our lot missed. [-(

thats what they were saying on the that score-i thing on the beeb!

mido, yobo, lualua and a few others played at the weekend! there needs to be one rule that applies to all teams!

It seems some will fly back to UK every weekend to play. Was this option open to all teams?

it all depends on each respective FA, some are quite clearly 'user friendly' and others (such as Senegal) clearly are not.

Yobo clearly stated before the Africans Nations that he wouldn't play unless he was allowed to fly back and play for Everton. This was accepted by the national coach so the rules are obviously down to the governing body of each nation

it is a mickey mouse tournament most of the games are played like friendlies it is used as an excuse to get a break from the cold winter months by the african players, the tournament should be banned it is worthless.

Just like the European Championships.

Who cares that you loose some players, managers know this, so they cant moan!

it does need to be made more consistent with the rest of the footballing calendar!

but if you're an african winning this means everything!

Why should it though really ?? Its not that much of a problem to the rest of the Clubs, its only Sam moaning, because he decade's to scrimp for the cheap players, which is great for you and I wish we had all of your Africans, but he cant complain, then in the next sentence announce another Senegal player!!!!!

They should play it every 4 years instead of every 2 years though!!!

:D

Dead ragging right they should.

And the players should either ALL go away for a training camp or whatever, or none should. Shouldn't be special cases made.

some players staying and some going is a recipe for brown paper bags and corruption, whats to say everton in there predicament pre christmas presented a brown paper bag to the chief of football for nigeria.

Maybe Okocha wanted to go rather than play for Bolton, or sit on the bench!!!!

Nobody actaully thought of this then ????

he got special dispensation to play in the cup at watford last week.

Maybe he likes Watford!!!!

Dead right! and at the same time of the Euro championship! but they won't as no fooker outside Africa would be interested and the global TV companies would choose the Euros. Main reason this won't happen is that blaziers at FIFA et al would miss out on one lot of 5 star accomodation and hospitality.

The clever thing to do though would be to hold the world cup every two years and then the other comps would become redundant anyway.

So, you've all been to Africa, have you?

Any of you fancy playing football in summer in Africa?

Temperatures in Egypt from June to August regularly hit 55-60 degrees. That's why they play it at the coldest time of year, when the temperatures dip as low as 25.

That cold? How do they survive.

I was once in South Africa on June 1995 and it was ragging freezing!

A quick geography lesson for you:

Egypt is in North Africa.

They wear jumpers and big coats. A bit like we do in our winters. :D

Yoba was supposed to go last week, but a mystery injury delayed hi departure

Mido could play but had to miss the cup game to play a friendly, which was postponed. SO I suppose can't complain at that one re: Okocha

Maybe we should have done a Chelsea. Declare Faye injured, therefore he is omitted from the squad, keep him out of the cup game and the Blackburn game then find he is actually fit earlier, realise that the country has now named a replacement, and he can play all the other games.

I'd sweat me nads off in shorts in that weather never mind a coat.
