Davies / Stelios

Davies - feck me. You try to find fault and hate this guy - but he keeps coming back. Selecting Borgetti for these last couple of games has brought an extra 5% out of Davies. He was immense yesterday. Any and every fan from every other club wonders why we put up with a striker that cannot score goals. Hopefully all of those questions were answered last night - he was tip top in my eyes.

Stelios - what is it with Stelios? Come the New Year and the guy just steps up another gear and makes this top flight football look a piece of piss. So happy for him again to be the match winner - he deserved it. Watching him last night, you can understand why Benitez was showing an interest.

Davies - Kevin Davies he's not scored since :-k WTF the guy gives 110% every game for us and causes problems for every opposition defence, assists etc.

Stelios - the balls simply come over and hit him on the head :-k WTF was all that about 8-[

I thought he was pointing out the sublime cross from Gardner. Pointing out that with a precise cross like that Stellios' head just needed to be at the right place at the right time.

Or maybe he was being a c??ck!

For me a striker should score more than 5 goals a season. Davies doesn't even look like scoring most of the time.

He does a lot of work and wins and holds up a load of balls from defense and hopefully his new position a bit wider will enable us to play Borgetti who will score goals.

The future's bright... the future's white

Without Davies as the focal point, we would struggle to score goals despite him never scoring.

He wins the headers, creates chances for the midfield runners and defends from the front, giving the rest of the team a few seconds extra to get organised and into position.

Davies's main job isn't goalscoring, otherwise he'd have been long dropped. His workrate and the other attributes are making him what he id: indispensable.

When was the last time bolton had a prolific striker..

i do remember worthy when he came top goal scorer in 79 in the owd first division. and gowling came 3rd ..i think

Our three top scorers this season are Nolan, Stelios and Dioufy. All supposedly midfielders! I haven't got the statistics but I wonder how many of their 14 goals have had something to do with Davies.

We all know he doesn't get in the team for his prowess in front of goal but I'll bet he's still one of the first names on the team sheet!

The problem is; the pundits who spout sh??te about "Davies hasn't scored since . . . . ." They only see his name on the team sheet as our centre-forward. They haven't a clue what role he plays on the pitch!

you missed out philiskirk and reeves :D

but its true since we've been in the prem , we have not signed a quality named striker , someone who will get you 20+ goals a season. the likes of jimmy floyd, robbie fowler, etc etc

aye, i'll give you philliskirk

I thought Holdsworth was supposed to have been a quality striker.

He was.

He never missed striking his wife once.

for the goal, kev d.wins a tackle in midfield, chases a lost cause into the corner from gardener, gavies the trickster the ball back.

ricky and kev d. were superb saturday.

Without Kev Bolton wouldn't be the same. He may not score the goals but he will always give 110% and you can't ask 4 more than that

And a blowjob off his wife

Never mind that

John Thomas scored 28 goals one season I'm sure of it
