leigh white Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Whos your favorite ever "Northern Monkey" player? One who comes to mind was a certain Alan Taylor, who scored six goals, two in the 6th rd, two in the semi and two in the final. My personal shandy drinker player, who played for us, was Dean Holdsworth.
Traf Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 My favourite Londoner would probably be Keith oo-ah Branagan, without whose penalty save we might not be where we are now.

Kicked off that day, when reading got the pen about 15 of us tried to walk out of wembley , only to be held back by the stewards ,anyhow one got a butt on the nose and back up was called . we was ushed back up the steps just in time to see keith save the pen. the rest is history
leigh white Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 Me young son looked like a West Ham fan when that penalty was given against us.
mickythehippo Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 what's with the crying? any fule kno Sky can find at least one oik blubbing like a girl come the wrong result, they'll find them just as easily in the Bolton crowd if they want if you get knocked out of something important that matters to you, more so given the likely makeup of your crowd compared to our away support
Tyler Durden Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 one oik blubbing like a girl come the wrong result Yeah it was Joe Cole at the Reebok wasn't it?
mickythehippo Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 was it? don't recall, was this before of after he supposedly punched one of your players and kicked in the tunnel wall? maybe he was crying at the thought of going to Chelsea
Tyler Durden Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 maybe he was crying at the thought of going to Chelsea Yeah, must be gutted bout that career move.......
mickythehippo Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 doesn't play much though does he and in my naive and idealistic world someone that actually was a West Ham supporter wouldn't play for them
Traf Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Joe Cole and Frank Lampard epitomise the sheer hypocrisy top footballers display on a regular basis. West Ham boys born and bred blah blah blah, "I love West Ham, boyhood heroes etc" You get the drift. Chelski dangle the money and they're off quicker than Widnes' Y-backs at a sheepdog trials. Joe Cole and Frank Lampard are serial badge kissers. It used to mean something when players did it in the past, but now it just shows their hypocrisy.
Tyler Durden Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Lampard wouldnt be the player he is (England's best) without the move to Chelsea - it allowed him to develop and play at a much higher level (Champs League Semi finals whist West Ham were in the play offs). As for Cole - he's been class this season and looks like becoming a top level player - even though I hate the little C*ntshoveler. If Nolan was to leave for Munich - yes I'd be angry bout it ... but lets face it -- he'd have a better chance at becoming a better player by playing for them at a higher level than playing for us. It hurts, but its true.

Ok, Chelsea have helped mould him into the world class player he is today but we played a massively important part in his career and the fat git isnt grateful at all!
WHUJOHN11 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 agree with the last two posts ...but please don't say that horrible word again . im in a good mood and don't want to keep it that way. O:)

Dean Holdsworth was a Hammer :D/ For my fav monkey it would have to be Keith Robson....now he really is a nutter.
Tyler Durden Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 the fat git isnt grateful at all! Yeah, who'd've though a bloke who gets booed, geered and sworn at doesn't like you.......
mickythehippo Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 we do that for a reason and it ain't because he left us, why do you think the likes of Cole gets no grief and Lampard does if you don't understand the background don't post about it those players weren't developed under Redknapp properly, Lampard was distinctly fat when he played for us, bacon rolls and all that, suspect the next Lampard and Cole to come through West Ham's ranks will be properly brought up and developed don't care anyway, they ain't West Ham no more and with hindsight, never were
mickythehippo Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 bacon rolls Bacon whats? a roll with bacon in? you't don't have rolls in the north kinda a round ball of crusty bread cut in half and something put in the middle lovely but possibly not the sort of thing an athelete should be eating while training, and indeed, not at all
Maggie Tate Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 a roll with bacon in? you't don't have rolls in the north kinda a round ball of crusty bread cut in half and something put in the middle Oh, you mean bacon barms. Have you ever had lobby?
Guest Biff Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 bacon rolls Bacon whats? He means barms. They are called flour cakes in Bolton, Traf.
Traf Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 No they aren't. You don't go and ask for a bacon flour cake, you idiot. You ask for a bacon barm.
