Alan Pardew

The lad is getting too big for his boots, the fickle hammers fans have started to leave him alone & now he's charlie big-time.

His 'we're a home-grown' club b*llocks has started to get a bit tiresome recently, I've heard him mention it in every interview, what does he want - a f*cking medal?

A debate that didn't end up like schoolkids arguing - I can't believe we did it =D>

Now then, do you think Pauline Fowler will ever get over losing Arthur?

PB

i dont think she will , no ! :D

Sir Trev got his own back though' date=' he's now above him in the football ladder![/quote']

What - for the being the biggest paper shuffler in football?

That will go down in history.

Yeah' date=' in charge of the Grassroots development in England and on the panel to select the next England boss is a real naff job.[/quote']

jobs for the boys, anyone can see that...

sheringham will be his right hand man come next season...

Sheringham has just signed a new contract with us to play next season.

oooh yay, inspired (re)signing...

Useful to have round the club for his influence on the younger players and can still knock the goals in, not the worst (re)signing we will ever make!

Yeah, in charge of the Grassroots development in England and on the panel to select the next England boss is a real naff job.

Didn't the FA School of Excellence at Burton-on-Trent recently get cancelled?

Cos they'd rather spend over ??600million on a National Stadium. That's going to help grass-roots.

Aye he's doing a great job. Lets see which YesMan they appoint for the England job.

Brooking wasnt even there when they gave the go ahead for the new Wembley but dont let facts get in the way of your post...

The media attention on 'good old Trev' was bordering on embarrassing when he took over West Ham, luckily Sam helped stop that with our 1-0 win.

Roeder was in charge for that game...

No bite again, I'm giving up now [-(

A day without winding up the opposition is no fun.

TBH, good luck for the season, but, I hope we 'hammer' you tomorrow.

And to you, apart from the next 2 fixtures of course!

And please try and finish above Spurs in that final champs league spot, its a bit beyond us I think!

Fact is though the FA are spending very little on grass roots football. Which renders Brooking a little impotent wouldn't you say?

It will be clubs that produce the next generation of footballers via their academies - not the FA.

He has only been there a little over 2 years, surely its a too early to judge him at the moment!.Things aint exactly gonna change overnight.

The French took many years to build up thier academies prior to the 1998 World Cup win.

He was in charge of the England Sports Council for many years, joined it in 1989 and was chairman between 1998 and 2002.

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce quickly blasted the appointment, claiming Brooking does not have the "Uefa Pro Licence or the Uefa Pro Licence Diploma, qualifications that every coach is required to have."

Does Sam not have a point ?

Surely the man running youth development should have some coaching qualification ?

I have no evidence to back up this view, just personal opnion.

Seems like he got the job because of who he is rather than what he has done

He didnt at the time (2 years) ago but was in the process of obtaning them, which was why Fat Sam kicked up a fuss.

He now has all the qualifications that are required and has patched up his differences with Sam (allegedly!)

He got the job because the FA thought he did well at Sport England.

Does that mean that I can apply for any job I want, even if I'm utterly underqualied, on the basis that I'll pick 'em up on the way? I'd get laughed out of 99.9% of jobs.

Fair play, hope he does a good job, if we win the world cup in 2010,2014,2018 and 2022 I will be convinced. :D

Trevor Brooking is a toss bag - END OF STORY

He was already coaching for them, they take some time to complete apparently.

As I already said, the FA admired all the good work he had done for Sport England over the years. It was his experience that got him the gig.

Anyway, I sense somewhat of a dislike for our trev on this board?

if he was learning whilst on the job (so to speak), i wonder if he got an apprentice wage :-k

Anyway, I sense somewhat of a dislike for our trev on this board?

Nowt against the bloke. I know almost nothing about the chap, he's pretty much a nobody.

Come on, everyone remembers him sitting on the fence during England commentary and on Match of the Day in the 1990's!

I wonder... if Sir trev was a northener would he get this much stick ?:-k

Pretty irrelevant anyway isn't it. Trev's got the job now, appears to be doing well, and has settled his differences with Sam.

As for Pard's recent outburst, it appears Sam has also made very similar comments in the past, so little to get worked up about there.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game immensely. I think it will be an entirely different game to those we have played before.

Any of you lot likely to be near the Bromilow Arms tomorrow? I'll be in there around noon.
