Alan Pardew

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4792270.stm

The lad is getting too big for his boots, the fickle hammers fans have started to leave him alone & now he's charlie big-time.

His 'we're a home-grown' club b*llocks has started to get a bit tiresome recently, I've heard him mention it in every interview, what does he want - a f*cking medal?

I wonder... if Sir trev was a northener would he get this much stick ?:-k

no, he would nt gave the job in the first place then would he

d'errrrrrrrr. :D

as i said dont know if he is doing a good job or a bad , hope he is doing it well and we see some benfit in the future.

closing the football academy to fund wembley sends a message that whoever is in the job it will be very difficult, so maybe better with someone doing the job who is 'in' with FA.

Pretty irrelevant anyway isn't it. Trev's got the job now, appears to be doing well, and has settled his differences with Sam.

As for Pard's recent outburst, it appears Sam has also made very similar comments in the past, so little to get worked up about there.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game immensely. I think it will be an entirely different game to those we have played before.

Any of you lot likely to be near the Bromilow Arms tomorrow? I'll be in there around noon.

Beware of low flying bottles

Only if i can't find BW's club?

Where is it ? is it near the Ground? :D

I dont understand the stick Sir trev is getting.

He is the most non-offensive bloke ever.

Its not fault the fa offered him the job, shoudlnt the abuse be aimed at the FA, which lets be honest is paying Sven ??5 mill a year and in 5 years he has done nothing......

Why, aren't you very tall?

I wonder... if Sir trev was a northener would he get this much stick ?:-k

i wonder if trevor was a northerner he'd be a) a sir and B) in that job!

A) no and B) errrrr no

I dont understand the stick Sir trev is getting.

Yes I suppose so.

But he seems to be promoted not necessarily on his ability but on his reputation.

IMO, he's too nice a bloke to make a real difference. In any walk of life, to get things done you have to rattle a few cages. I'm not sure he's capable of that.

Think everyone will agree, only time will tell though.

Back to the thread subject matter:

From www.whufc.com 16:30, 10/03/2006

West Ham United is delighted to confirm that Alan Pardew has been named as the Barclays Premiership Manager of the Month for February.

The Hammers boss has scooped the award following a 100% Premiership record in the month, which began with the memorable 3-2 triumph against Arsenal at Highbury and was followed by convincing home wins against Sunderland (2-0) and Birmingham City (3-0) in later weeks.

The announcement follows Anton Ferdinand's success as the Barclays Premiership Player of the Month for January, and is the first time a West Ham United manager has won the award since Glenn Roeder in March 2003.

The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.

Jim Hytner, from the Barclays Awards Panel, said: "Alan Pardew should be congratulated on this award win, West Ham have proved to be more than a match for most teams this season. There is a talented crop of young English players at Upton Park now, and under Pardew's guidance, they will hopefully fulfil their ambitions with both club and country."

Pards himself says: "This is an award for the tremendous work that the team, squad and staff have put in - not just last month but throughout the season.

"We thank Barclays and it is an honour for the whole Club. I believe we have the best backroom staff in the country and this award is a reflection of that."

Didn't Glenn Roeder win Manager of Month just before you went down?

kiss of death

Didn't Glenn Roeder win Manager of Month just before you went down?

Yes, says so in the text above.

Bodes well for the future doesnt it!

kiss of death

Normally is, although Jewell won it twice on the spin in the Autumn and Moyes won it in Jan and Everton didnt have a bad Feb.

We'll see anyway!

AT THE END OF THE DAY

Pardew is a little late with his comments

Arsenal have been european as such for 3/4/more years, as have Chelsea

we even played 11 foreigners against Sunderland 2 years ago, which was according to Martin Samuel was why we should've gone down and West Ham stay up

all water under the bridge

get with the times Pardew

if its all water under the bridge then why keep bangin on about it cuntox? [-X

Think a few on here seem to think Pardew is shite and you may struggle next season.

Like you say - we'll see.

But once you stay up, you get 3 new teams every season for whom it will always be a struggle. Reading look a decent outfit but can't see any other team having any chance whatsoever.

If you finish top half next season (as it looks like will happen this season) then I think people will have to give Pardew a bit more credit.

Well put JJ...its not really just about this year its the next 2 3 or 5 years we need to look for.

I think Pards has done a great Job and it looks like the chairman might just of learnt a lesson and not be such a greedy red ginger this time around.....

Can't see any of the 3 who come up doing the same as us....well not unless The Reading chairman sticks his life savings in :-k

Can you imagine what it would be like if Reading do manage to hang around? Their fans are the worst sort of happy-clappy, face-painting court jesters going.

I've been to the mad jet ski a few times and they're incredulous. As a team they may compete, but when you add their no nothing fans into the mix it really highlights all that is wrong with the game.
