Would Arsenal not go into qualifying like Liverpool last year, or has uefa said this will definetely happen to stop any grief they may get. Would be harsh on Tottenham but Arsenal would love it.

As long as Arsenal finish 5th or 6th they 'simply' swap their UEFA Cup place for a Champions League place. If they finished outside the UEFA Cup places in the league I do not think we get an extra place. On the other hand the UEFA Cup rules allow the holders entry as a right to defend the competition. So if Boro win it they would enter the 2006-07 UEFA Cup in their own right and not taking the place of another English club.
