we drew 0-0 at Oxford in a Div 1 game (on our way to the first of the Ipswich playoffs and then the Watford final).

Now we're on the verge of a second successive Euro qualification and they've just lost their league status.

Knowing that does not stop me criticising the team when they deserve it nor Sam when he deserves it (and currently he does deserve it). But it does help get things into perspective...

Was it a mid-week match?

Didnt Oxford parade their new owner and saviour around the pitch before the game? The guy the stadium is named after ?I remember thinking 'thats the kind of guy we need here - shitload of money, no connection with the club, and we can fleece him dry then dump him'.

Was it a mid-week match?

Saturday game - we played em on a Tuesday the year before - pissed it down, club coaches made it around 5 minutes into the second half.

The Saturday game, Oxford had a load of kids playing keepy up at half time, one was really good, but not in the class of him that appeared during the Charlton game.

Saturday match, went down there for the weekend, sheite game- great piss up =D>

might have been the one played in really bad snow?? That game is the only one I ever had a ticket for but not went to as the roads round here were fucked - and I mean fucked

Actually, looking at the stats site again it cant have been that one as it was a saturday #-o

we drew 0-0 at Oxford in a Div 1 game

I was at the said match , got tickets from an ex oxford player (martin aldridge) who also played for northampton, blackpool, and rushden . who was killed in a car crash a few years back .

and the said '' martin aldridge '' should have had a hat trick that neet 8-[

he tore our defence to rippons .

The only good thing about it was that on a side street opposite you had the mad fucker who had - famously - done this to his house:

Why,could he not see? :D

I remember going to Oxford one year with 4 other lads and I drove the hire car. The rain was so heavy travelling down on the motorway that the puddles were that deep they were slowing us down from 60 to 20mph without me putting my foot on the brakes.

Indeed he did. Thought he was going to be our keeper for the next 10 years after that game ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Players were sent back on the pitch after the match as punishment, only to be faced with a load of abuse from the Wanderers fans who were locked in, and went back to the dressing rooms properly scalded.

Glad you reminded me of that - very very funny it was. Almost as funny as the Oxford ground which for me still rates as the worst ground I have visited. Am I just making it up or was it just a series of temporary 'stands' which didn't remotely match each other?

twas easter weekend & was a truly shite game

dont remember them warming down afterwards - must have left early!!!

remember the player we had from palace on loan playing - a jock but can't remember his name?
