Bolton chasing Saviola

Javier Saviola's agent Alfredo Kamprera has claimed Arsenal and Bolton are interested in signing the Argentina striker.

Saviola is surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp - having spent the last two seasons out on loan at Monaco and Sevilla.

However, after some impressive displays for Argentina in Germany he's still a wanted man in the transfer market and has attracted interest from a host of sides across Europe, including PSV Eindhoven.

However, Kamprera insists the 25-year-old will only consider Spain or England as possible destinations, with Greek side Panathinaikos also expressing an interest.

"There is a proposal from Panathinaikos, as there are from other teams. One of them is Arsenal, while there is also interest from Bolton," Kamprera told Greek sports daily Sport Day.

"Our priority is for Javier to remain in Spain or go to England, because he is interested in the quality of the football.

According to Barcelona daily El Mundo, the European champions want more than ??4million for Saviola, despite his contract only having one more year to run.

The paper reports PSV are already in negotiations with Saviola, so Arsene Wenger or Sam Allardyce will have to move quickly to land their target.

Another fairy tale.

If we got close to signing a deal - moneybags Boro and Wigan would probably get in touch with his agent and offer him stupid money. I want those two to get relegated next season, a kick in the knackers financially & Gibson/Whelan can stop trying to be Spurs (buy everyone - win fook all).

I hope he comes

I doubt he will

But in Sam we trust

PB

you don't think England would've played the way we do if Sam had got the job do you?

yes, probably :D

:D

aye and Gartside has the voucher in his pocket

I don't know why more clubs aren't after saviola, his club career goal record is 127 in 245

I was about to ask what was happening with this move but finally he might be coming. Would be a quality striker in the premiership next season.

what leads you to say he "finally he might be coming"?

he's simple :-k

or maybe he's got inside info, probably not.. Is there anyone usually on here with an more direct link with transfer speculation, like you see some people on boards who work in the club, or have good contacts. all the news on here seems to come about a few mins after sky or bbc report on it.

oh deary me

you ever heard of a bloke by the name of rivaldo :-$

The BEN article basically states that we've been in negotiations with Saviola's agent for the last 2 days and are now favourites to sign him. Only Panathaniakos have put forward a deal aswell as us and he wants to play in England....

It confirms at least that we are genuinely after him and have got to a decent stage in negotiations...

Lets see if this flushes any bids out in the next few days or not.

I reckon if he's not linked with anyone else by the end of the week we could be going places [-o<

but why would he come to us, i just can't picture it at all. i'd love to see him playing for us, but all i can see happening even in the situation where nobody else goes for him, is him saying he'll stay at barca and fight for his place.

"you ever heard of a bloke by the name of rivaldo ", what do u mean?

You mean you never heard all the Rivaldo rumours last year? this speculation will probably go the same way, especially if his agent is Willie Mackay!!!

How many times have we been linked with players who we are "nearing a deal with" only for it to fall through days later, theres way too many to mention - most of it is just paper talk, Bolton are pretty much linked with anyone available always have been and probably always will

Next week we will be signing some other Mr Bigshot!!

Like anyone else on here I do hope its true but I am not banking on it

to back me up, i just found rijkaard said:

If Saviola does not find a team," the Dutch coach said, "We will work with him without problems, even if he will see little first team action.

"We are ready to help him because we want him to be happy and because he will do better at another club."

so there's incentive for him to stay.

i remeber them, they should stop now that he's retiring after this season

If we sign Saviola, I will dance around the town hall in an Argie top whilst eating corned beef and chanting "Malvinas, Malvinas".

more importantly, would you renew your season ticket?*

I bet that made Saviola feel miles better

Are hints not your strong point?

i guess the eating of corned beef will be the bit you find most disagreeable
