Haha - nah mate, completely new direction! much more upbeat, oldschool indie kinda stuff. People who've heard us say we sound like a mix of Ride, Stone Roses, Smiths, My Bloody Valentine, etc

Remember after the Bristol City mini-riot back in the early 90s, when they were tearing sheets off the back of the Paddock. Got home, got changed, headed into Manchester to see Ride at the Boardwalk. Alas, every other bastard in the region had the same idea and it was a complete sellout. Was gutted! But, managed to see them a few months later at International 2, just as they released their first album...... which I've never really heard.

Only ever bought their first 3 EPs, the Red, Yellow and Grey ones. Still a refreshing moment in the Indie-world whilst they lasted. Believe one of them is in Oasis now.

Yeah, Andy Bell is on bass for Oasis now. I think we're doin a cover of a Ride tune "Vapour Trail" if we can get it sorted in time, only appointed our bass player on tuesday

Sorry to spoil the Ride love in but they were always on the shoe gazing, floppy fringe, southern middle class end of the indie spectrum. All the kids who were into them when I was at uni and neither a fight or a shag in them.

 

Did they not record a song called "Magical Spring" about taking a drink from a magic well? Enid Blyton would have been proud of them.

There was only ever two good bands in Bolton.

 

Spam's mighty outfit, can't remember their name now, but they had a great song called People of Moses Gate.

As for covering Ride - don't bore the audience to death!
