The ESL have found another player to boo.

I was embarrassed for the patrons of the ESL when Stelios was subbed last night. The player was guilty of holding onto the ball for a second too long.

Live with it!

Didnt notice it to be honest, but then any so called fan who boo's his own team player is a retard and should be beaten within an inch of his life.

Stelios made mistakes and did frustrate me a bit but hey, name a player who hasn't in his career have a bad match.

I'm not defending anyone booing a player, but Stelios has been poor recently. His form this season when he's had a game has been average at best.

I'd say holding onto to the ball for a second too long is an under statement. These last two homes games he has slowed the game down by insist on 3 or 4 touches when one will do. Anelka is crying out for an early ball and Stelios doesn't look like he's on the same wavelength. His "sporting" behaviour didn't win much favour either. I think last night highlighted the fact that we've probably seen the best of Stelios these last two seasons. Last seasons Stelios would have pass the ball intot he net when he broke clear, instead of trying to square the ball to TBH FFS!!

But I still wouldn't boo him, thats not going to do anyone any favours. Although i did call him a stupid red ginger on a number of occasions last night......

My point is more about the booing of Stelios in Nicky Hunt's absence rather than my belief that he played really well these last few games.

Booing your own players is not going to get the best from them. FACT!

i thought stelios did reasonably well last night, apart from not squaring that ball...

No, I understand what your saying Micky. But we have to remember there are a large number of thick fuckers at the Reebok, who will boo, criticise and abuse our players at the drop of a hat. Three of these mentioned pricks were booing Alumina thinking it was Lehmann FFS!!

I didn't hear much in the way of booing of Stelios, but I was saying I can understand why some of the bellend would have choose to do so. They'd rather be getting on someones back than be driving the team on. It these idiots that are pictured on TV when we score, makes you ashamed to be a white sometimes....

what was shown then?

what was shown then?

Nowt that i know of, but you know the ones I mean. Always zooms in on the plebs and makes me cringe

a player lacking confidence will take an extra touch rather tham playing by instinct, this is what is happening with stelios.

booing him or getting on his back makes this worse.

whilst understanding peoples frustrations it really does nt help.

i can't stand him and his fancy dan going backwards moments

never made a secret of it, BUT the poor fecker certainly isn't going to get better carrying 20000 folk on his back

sams going to have nobody left to pick from soon

whatever spin comes from reebok towers, i've little doubt hunt was pulled out to save him from the dickheads

this meant we lost our one footballing midfielder - and his height - from where he should have been

was the one thing that spoilt a cracking night

I have defended Stelios, for me he is technically good and he scores a healthy quota (if he plays). A goalscoring knack is a skill, a talent, and obviously adds to your worth as a player.

However my mate, a Spurs fan and therefore fairly objective about us, first thing he said this morning was 'that Stelios was cr??p eh' ?

Still, booing your own players is the preserve of the brain dead. Thick f??cking idiots.

I though we missed Nicky Hunt last night, although Campo did his best with no help. How quick is that Clichy.

bit strong that casino, the lad signed on a free, and has been a good player for us, he has had a stop and start season and probably aint 100% match sharp yet, i think he deserves a little time and a bit more respect.

if you read my post, i'm not having a go based on last night, or anything this season

i just don't like his type of player

neither did i like another of his ilk, johannsen

my post is actually supportive of him

he is what he is

I'm with you 100% on this one including little Joey - he was vastly over-rated.

and by the same token, we are free to criticise those who do!

you jest right? sam put's out what he believes is his best squad regardless of what fans think, if anything, this match would've been the sort he would want to use hunt in if he could

Watched the game in the pub last night, as i have most games this season, and from what i saw Stelios had a shite game but still he ran his bollocks off and wore the white of Bolton. At the end of the day you dont boo your own, its Big Sam who picks him for the team.
