Messi's Goal

Featured Replies

Very pleasing on the eye, but not brilliant.

It would be brilliant if it wasn't in Spain, where tackling is forbidden. He'd never have got near the box in England.

Depends who he's playing against, if it's West Ham they'll probably stand out of his way and give him a pat on the back...

There's always that! :good:

which is odd because it's very reminiscent of a goal scored by maradona, against England..

That was in Mexico.

It was a very good goal, brilliant close control and pace, but Traf has a point. There were a couple of opportunities when he was miles away from goal for two of the chasing players to A. Put in a tackle or B. Hack him down. In England that would have happened and a yellow card would have followed most probably. We have seen in recent years players who couldn't make it in England do very well in Spain. Technically Spain has a lot of quality but the defending is poor to say the least.

Can't agree with that Traf

I can clearly recall our former player 'the porn star' score a similar goal for us at Chelsea

I also recall a certain Aliadiere going on a mazy(ish) run against Bolton in the Cup this season which lead to Ljungberg scoring. Tal had a very good opportunity to chop him down to prevent the goal - but didn't.

didnt Eider score a mazy one vs Grimsby? a while back

Wasn't that goal more side to side

You thinking of this one against Wimbledon?

Who was there that day? I got a last minute seat in our company box, that goal came from nowhere - amazing :yahoo:

How good was Eidur? Love to have him, Dkorkaeff and Okocha all at their peak playing for us. Fantasy football.

The was in extra time I think, and as far as I remember Aliadere and Ljunberg has come on as subs. The whole team was bolloxed and Arsenal exploited that
